Risk Factors for Postischemic Stroke Epilepsy in Young Adults: A Nationwide Population-Based Study in Taiwan
ConclusionsStroke severity, aphasia, malignancy, and drug abuse were associated increased risk of PSE and statin use may protect against PSE in young adults. Reducing the severity of stroke, statin use and controlling unhealthy behaviors might be able to decrease the development of PSE. Since PSE is associated with poor outcomes, early identification or intervention of PSE based on the risk factors might reduce the harmful effects of PSE.

ConclusionsThis study failed to show differences in outcome in patients with PCS according to how AVS/AIS is addressed in the stroke thrombolysis code. In patients with minor PCS, AVS/AIS was associated with a benign clinical course. Prompt identification of prodromal AVS/AIS is essential.

Functional Remodeling Associated With Language Recovery After Repetitive Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation in Chronic Aphasic Stroke
ConclusionWe reported the therapeutic effects of LF-rTMS and corresponding functional remodeling in chronic poststroke aphasia. Our results provided neuroimage evidence reflecting the rebalance of interhemispheric inhibition induced by LF-rTMS, which could facilitate future research in the refinement of rTMS protocol to optimize the neuromodulation efficacy and benefit the clinical management of patients with stroke.

Transcranial Direct-Current Stimulation as an Adjunct to Verb Network Strengthening Treatment in Post-stroke Chronic Aphasia: A Double-Blinded Randomized Feasibility Study

Conclusion:Large vessel occlusion (LVO) in minor stroke is non-exceptional, and our findings highlight the need for emergency arterial imaging in any patients suspected of acute stroke, including those with minor symptoms because of the absence of obvious predictors of proximal LVO.

Conclusion: We concluded that CRIMI-BCI improved UL function in stroke patients with varying effectiveness. Recovery of Apraxia of Speech and Aphasia in Patients With Hand Motor Impairment After Stroke
Conclusion: Our findings confirm the common occurrence of AOS and aphasia in left hemisphere stroke patients with a hand motor impairment. Recovery was similar across speech-language and motor domains, even in patients with severe impairment, supporting the shared recovery hypothesis and that similar brain recovery mechanisms are involved in speech-language and motor recovery post stroke.
