Association of Gender With Clinical Outcomes in a Contemporary Cohort of Patients With Atrial Fibrillation Receiving Oral Anticoagulants
CONCLUSIONS: In contemporary anticoagulation for AF, SSE and major bleeding risks did not differ between sexes. Hemopericardium and Cardiac Tamponade in a Patient Treated with Dabigatran Etexilate.
We described a case of a 66 year-old female patient with non-valvular AF receiving dabigatran etexilate 150 mg twice daily for one year who suffered from hemopericardium. Her laboratory tests performed 1 year prior were normal and her admission tests revealed acute renal failure and elevated international normalized ratio (INR) level (4.79). Urgent pericardiocentesis was followed by improved renal functions and normalized INR. Dabigatran etexilate is a new oral anticoagulant that is increasingly used in daily practice. The Use Pattern and Clinical Impact of New Antiplatelet Agents Including Prasugrel and Ticagrelor on 30-day Outcomes after Acute Myocardial Infarction in Korea: Korean Health Insurance Review and Assessment Data.
CONCLUSION: The use of new antiplatelet agents is rapidly increasing, and they have been used more commonly than clopidogrel since 2015. We demonstrated that new antiplatelet agents have a favorable effect on reducing 30-day mortality in AMI patients in Korea.

Abstract
The number of patients undergoing percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) who mandate additional oral anticoagulant therapy has been increasing. Dual antiplatelet therapy (DAPT) is associated with reduced ischemic events including stent thrombosis, myocardial infarction and stroke following PCI. However, the tradeoff is an increased risk for bleeding while on DAPT. The addition of a novel oral anticoagulant (NOAC) further increases the likelihood of bleeding while on antiplatelet therapy. Clopidogrel versus Aspirin after Dual Antiplatelet Therapy in Acute Myocardial Infarction Patients Undergoing Drug-Eluting Stenting.
CONCLUSIONS: Monotherapy with clopidogrel, compared to aspirin, after DAPT showed similar clinical outcomes in patients with acute MI treated with DES.
