Stent retriever angioplasty for acute atherosclerotic occlusion of internal carotid artery: A case report
CONCLUSION: The prolonged deployment and partial resheath method using a stent retriever may be safe and effective in the treatment of intracranial, atherosclerosis-related, and emergent large-vessel occlusion of the ICA.PMID:36324978 | PMC:PMC9610213 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_729_2022

Surgical management of post-COVID invasive rhino-orbito-cerebral mucormycosis and its outcomes: Role of neurosurgeons in a tertiary care center
CONCLUSION: In high-risk patients, a high level of clinical suspicion combined with appropriate investigations should be performed as soon as possible. Symptoms and early warning signs should not be overlooked, as treatment delays can be fatal. A minimally invasive surgical approach is possible in view of decreasing the morbidity of large craniotomy.PMID:36128146 | PMC:PMC9479606 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_374_2022

Endovascular vertebral artery orifice angioplasty for the prevention of acute ischemic stroke following vertebral artery stump syndrome
CONCLUSION: Clinicians should be aware that EVT is not easy in AIS following VASS due to access difficulties and the treatment strategy should be carefully considered.PMID:36128121 | PMC:PMC9479644 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_515_2022

A case of refractory chronic subdural hematoma and internal carotid artery stenosis sequentially treated with surgical drainage, middle meningeal artery embolization, and carotid artery stenting
CONCLUSION: Under the circumstances where CSDH is present but antiplatelet therapy is inevitable, MMA embolization could be a reasonable treatment option to avoid additional surgical procedures. Furthermore, early intervention should be considered even for asymptomatic carotid stenosis in terms of shortening the administration period of antiplatelet agents.PMID:36128168 | PMC:PMC9479518 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_505_2022

Effect of drug use in the treatment of acute ischemic stroke: A scoping review
CONCLUSION: Evidence for thrombolytic and thrombectomy treatment in drug users remains limited. Controlled studies are needed to examine complication profile and outcomes following thrombolytic and thrombectomy treatment in this population.PMID:36128166 | PMC:PMC9479649 | DOI:10.25259/SNI_561_2022
