Patient-doctor interactions around alternative and complementary medicine in the context of oncology care in a Latin American country
CONCLUSIONS: The low frequency of communication contrasts to the increasing use of CAM. Divergent perspectives between doctors and patients could limit shared decision-making on the use of CAM. Enhanced knowledge and education on CAM for both actors is fundamental to improve their interaction and to move away from paternalistic and confrontational communication, particularly in a world region with cultural backgrounds that influence the use of CAM.PMID:37734425 | DOI:10.1016/j.ctim.2023.102986

Effect of Zuo's warming Yang acupuncture therapy combined with lifestyle interventions on prediabetes: A randomized controlled trial
CONCLUSIONS: Zuo's warming Yang acupuncture therapy conjunction with lifestyle interventions was more effective than lifestyle interventions alone in reducing FPG, 2hPG and HbA1c levels in prediabetic patients. Quantitative Evidence of the effect of Baduanjin exercise on quality of life and cardiac function in adults with chronic heart failure
CONCLUSION: Evidence from the meta-analysis support the beneficial effects of Baduanjin exercise on the QoL, cardiac function, and VO2max in patients with CHFin China. For optimal QoL improvements, it is recommended to engage in Baduanjin exercise 5-7 times per week for 30-60 min, over a duration of at least 8 weeks. CONCLUSIONS: The surgical technique involving the reconstruction of the coracoclavicular ligament using an enhanced minimally invasive NICE junction combined with double adjustable loop steel plate placement in the clavicular small bone canal is characterized by simplicity, safety, minimal invasiveness, excellent functional recovery, fewer complications, and superior clinical efficacy compared to clavicular hook steel plates.PMID:37708565

CONCLUSIONS: Rapid rehabilitation nursing therapy in patients undergoing intestinal surgery substantially enhances digestive tract function and overall patient well-being. It effectively reduces the incidence of postoperative complications, accelerates the patient's recovery process, and improves their quality of life. Patient satisfaction with postoperative fast recovery care was notably high. Establishment and Validation of Risk Prediction Model for Postpartum Hemorrhage for Pregnant Women ≥35 Years of Age in Natural Delivery
CONCLUSIONS: The PPH risk-prediction model for vaginal delivery for pregnant women ≥35 years of age showed that a greater age, pregnancy-induced hypertension, a lower prelabor FIB, a longer third stage of labor, and a higher birth weight for the newborn were significantly related to the incidence of PPH and that its use could be clinically helpful.PMID:37708560
