CORE-Hom: A powerful and exhaustive database of clinical trials in homeopathy.
Abstract The CORE-Hom database was created to answer the need for a reliable and publicly available source of information in the field of clinical research in homeopathy. As of May 2014 it held 1048 entries of clinical trials, observational studies and surveys in the field of homeopathy, including second publications and re-analyses. 352 of the trials referenced in the database were published in peer reviewed journals, 198 of which were randomised controlled trials. The most often used remedies were Arnica montana (n = 103) and Traumeel(®) (n = 40). The most studied medical conditions were respiratory tract i...

Effect of the oral administration homeopathic Arnica montana on mitochondrial oxidative stress.
CONCLUSION: When administrated orally, Arnica 30cH protects against hepatic mitochondrial membrane permeabilization induced by Ca(2+) and/or Fe(2+)-citrate-mediated lipid peroxidation and fragmentation of proteins due to the attack by reactive oxygen species. PMID: 23290879 [PubMed - in process]

Arnica montana effects on gene expression in a human macrophage cell line. Evaluation by quantitative Real-Time PCR.
CONCLUSIONS: This exploratory study provides new insights into the cellular and molecular mechanisms of action of A. montana as a promoter of healing, since some of the genes it modifies are key regulators of tissue remodelling, inflammation and chemotaxis. PMID: 27211321 [PubMed - in process]

Comments on the Retraction by PLoS ONE of a Laboratory Study on Arnica montana.
Abstract In June 2019, the journal PLoS ONE retracted an original research article, published in 2016, which described the effects of homeopathic Arnica montana on interleukin-4 treated human macrophages. The results showed an increase in extracellular matrix gene expression, including the gene encoding fibronectin, which is one of the main proteins involved in connective tissue healing. Here, the authors of the article discuss the critical points raised by the journal in the retraction note, with a focus on the specific methodological aspects of research on high dilutions of natural compounds. The editorial argum...

Fibronectin Gene Up-regulation by Arnica montana in Human Macrophages: Validation by Real-Time Polymerase Chain Reaction Assay.
CONCLUSION:  The results support evidence that the extracellular matrix is a potential therapeutic target of Arnica m., with positive effects on cell adhesion and migration during tissue development and healing. PMID: 32311747 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Nux vomica, the Arnica of Recovery from Addiction: An Exploratory Study of the Use of Homeopathy in the Reduction of Post–Acute Withdrawal Syndrome in Addiction Treatment
This article details a protocol of using Nux vomica in three American treatment settings, with data indicating a positive impact on both immediate symptoms and long-term stabilisation in treatment. Consistently in all three groups, those who chose to use homeopathy completed substance abuse treatment programs at a higher rate than those who did not. The authors conclude that the role of homeopathy for recovery from addiction merits further investigation.[...]Thieme Medical and Scientific Publishers Private Ltd.
