Attitudes To and Uptake of Repertory Software in Homeopathy Clinical Practice-Results of an International Survey
CONCLUSION: This preliminary study presents some potentially significant uptake, usage and attitude markers that stand to shed light on the practice of homeopathy and the place of emerging technologies such as repertory software. Ultimately, more research is needed to help identify and address the challenges, risks and tensions around integration of practice-enhancing technologies in CM educational and clinical settings to best serve the diverse and changing needs of practitioners.PMID:36138533 | DOI:10.1055/s-0042-1748841

Perceptions of homeopathy in supportive cancer care among oncologists and general practitioners in France
ConclusionsHomeopathy is viewed favorably as an integrated SCO therapy by the majority of French physicians involved with cancer patients —oncologists and GPs. Symptoms of particular relevance include fatigue, anxiety, peripheral neuropathy, sleep disturbance, and hot flashes. In such clinical situations, response to conventional therapies may be suboptimal and homeopathy is considered a reliable therapeutic option. These two studie s highlight the fact that homeopathy has gained legitimacy as the first complementary therapy in SCO in France.

What is it about homeopathy that patients value? And what can family medicine learn from this?
CONCLUSION: The possible adoption by family medicine of elements of homeopathy may be seen as controversial, but this study again indicates the vital importance of successful communication to ensure a sustainable doctor-patient relationship. Advances in this sector not only require continuous efforts in the areas of medical training and professional development, but also touch on basic questions relating to the development of effective medical care, such as those currently being discussed in the context of the 'patient-centred medical home'. Integration of homeopathy and complementary medicine in the public health system in Italy: national regulation and regional experiences
Abstract Complementary medicine (CM) is being increasingly used by citizens across Europe as a means to maintain their health and to treat illness and disease. In Italy the reform of Title V of the Italian Constitution allows each Region to decide how to put into practice and organize the Public Healthcare System. The agreement among the Italian National Government, the Regions, and the Provinces of Trento and Bolzano on the terms and requirements for the quality certification of training and practice of acupuncture, herbal medicine, and homeopathy by medical doctors and dentists, signed on February 2013, ...

Teaching midwives homeopathy —A Belgian pilot project
Conclusions Training midwives in homeopathy requires considerably more time than the 50 contact hours stipulated by law and would best be offered as interactive sessions providing powerful concrete case examples, spread over the course of one full year to allow for integration of the material into practice.

Homeopathy and cancer
Bradley Viner, the RCVS President, comments: As the regulator of the veterinary profession, we emphasise the importance of evidence-based veterinary medicine. We recommend that there should therefore be a cautious approach to homeopathy for animals and that normal evidential standards be applied to complementary treatments. We believe it is also essential that such treatments, until they can be proved, are complementary rather than ‘alternative’ and that they are therefore used alongside conventional treatment. However, whatever views there may be within the veterinary profession, it is clear that there is a de...

Observational Research in Homeopathy: Improving Homoeoprophylaxis Research Outcomes
Conclusion The use of appropriate homoeoprophylaxis programs to prevent targeted infectious diseases has an established place in homeopathy. Its ability to produce a significant and consistent level of protection has been shown time and again in large HP interventions conducted by practitioners, usually with orthodox medical training. More and better-quality research will continue to strengthen the evidence-based case for the use of HP both in short- and long-term infectious disease prevention. Using a standardised research checklist should help improve the quality of research into HP in the future. [...] Thieme Medical ...

Impact of Bias in Data Collection of COVID-19 Cases
CONCLUSION: Careful identification of biases and remedial steps such as training of doctors, regular monitoring of data, checking of all pre-defined symptoms, and multicenter data collection are important steps to mitigate biases.PMID:34500485 | DOI:10.1055/s-0041-1731314
