ConclusionsAmong children with CKD, older age is significantly associated with lower Umod/Cr, independent of eGFR. A pediatric case of IgA nephropathy benefitting from targeted release formulation –budesonide
ConclusionOur case demonstrates that TRF-budesonide could be considered an effective second-line treatment in pediatric IgAN, particularly when a long course of steroids is necessary to control active inflammation. However, pediatric clinical trials to identify the correct dosage and tolerability of TRF-budesonide are urgently needed.

Incidence of idiopathic nephrotic syndrome during the Covid-19 pandemic in the Paris area (France) and in the Netherlands
ConclusionsIncidence of INS before and during the Covid-19 pandemic was not different, but when schools were closed during lockdown, incidence was significantly lower. Interestingly, incidences of other respiratory viral infections were also reduced as was air pollution. Favorable course of leptospirosis and hantavirus-induced acute tubulointerstitial nephritis under corticosteroid treatment
ConclusionsLeptospirosis and hantavirus associated ATIN share common clinical and biochemical features. Due to the low incidence in Europe these infectious causes of kidney dysfunction may be overlooked. Glucocorticoids may be considered in the management of ATIN.

A simplified protocol of regional citrate anticoagulation with phosphate-containing solutions in infants and children treated with continuous kidney replacement therapy
ConclusionsIn our experience, RCA with commercially available solutions was easily applied and managed in critically ill children, even in patients with low weight or with liver failure. Solutions containing phosphate and higher concentrations of magnesium and potassium allowed reduction of metabolic derangement during CKRT. Non-surgical management in children with non-refluxing primary megaureter: a systematic review and meta-analysis
ConclusionsThe low pooled prevalence of secondary surgical intervention and high pooled prevalence of resolution may support the current non-surgical management in children with non-refluxing primary megaureter. However, these results should be interpreted cautiously due to the limited available body of evidence. Future studies should overcome existing limitations of imaging methods by using standardized, comparable criteria and report outcome parameters in a quantitative manner. Factors predicting the occurrence of disease-causing variants on next-generation sequencing in children with steroid-resistant nephrotic syndrome — implications for resource-constrained settings
ConclusionsWhile NGS-based genetic testing in SRNS is increasingly being incorporated in routine clinical practice the world over, the scenario is far from optimal in resource-limited settings. Our study highlights that resources for genetic testing in SRNS should be prioritized for patients with early age at disease onset and presence of family history.
