Aortoenteric fistulae and their multidisciplinary approach

Intraoperative Radiation Therapy as a Safe Alternative to Whole Breast Radiation for Treatment of Minimally Invasive Breast Cancers: A Retrospective Cohort Study
CONCLUSIONS: IORT exposure did not confer higher rates of complications and the local recurrence rate mirrored that of the general population undergoing lumpectomy and WBRT. This study demonstrates the need for equitable treatment options based on individual needs: IORT is a safe alternative to WBRT in certain subpopulations, especially those with physical, social, or personal limitations preventing participation in a 3- to 7-week time commitment of WBRT.PMID:37522359 | DOI:10.1177/00031348231192067

Titanium plates salvage in irradiated facial areas with the lipomodeling technique
We present two clinical cases of patients who had a facial reconstruction using a titanium plate associated with a locoregional soft tissue flap, and who presented a near-exposed plate a few years after the first surgery and adjuvant radiation therapy. In order to prevent plate exposure, we performed several lipomodeling sessions between skin and plate. Our results are very encouraging, with no plate exposure and thickening of the soft tissues which cover the plate at 10-years follow-up.
