Bacteria and your broken heart
In your screening for heart disease, I bet your doctor will never think to check your gut. And that may well be where your heart problems start. Let me explain… Your gut plays a critical role in your overall health. It’s a major part of your body’s ecosystem. It’s home to trillions of bacteria, viruses and fungi. They make up your “microbiome.” Doctors are beginning to pay attention when it comes to these bacteria. But they’re still missing the big picture. This microcosm affects just about every organ and body system. Some of these gut bugs cause disease and infection. Others boost your immune system. Stil...

Nature’s Most Powerful Age Fighter?
When I lecture at anti-aging conferences around the world, I get a good sense of what the leading anti-aging physicians are thinking about. And I’m surprised by how many are still holding out hope for an anti-aging “drug.” But I’m not holding my breath. And even if the FDA approved a drug for aging, it would likely include a laundry list of side effects, and only affect a small range of age-related decline. I’ve always had more faith in nature. Many of the most powerful age fighters are naturally occurring, and they do a better job of supporting and lengthening your telomeres than any drug. Te...

Super Nutrient’s Liver Surprise
I was one of the first doctors to talk about the incredible benefits of the super-nutrient pyrroloquinoline quinone, or PQQ for short. I was also one of the first doctors to recommend it to patients. Now I recommend this essential nutrient and powerful antioxidant to almost everyone who comes to see me at my wellness clinic. Researchers have only just recently begun to understand the many important roles of PQQ on the body’s cellular processes. Not only does it possess extraordinary energy-giving qualities and have the power to ease nerve pain and battle Alzheimer’s, it has the potential to become the world’s stronge...

Effects of organic extracts and their different fractions of five Bangladeshi plants on in vitro thrombolysis
Conclusions: Our study suggests that thrombolytic activity of T. orientalis, B. monnieri and U. sinuata could be considered as very promising and beneficial for the Bangladeshi traditional medicine. Lower effects of other extracts might suggest the lack of bio-active components and/or insufficient quantities in the extract. In vivo clot dissolving property and active component(s) of T. orientalis and B. monnieri for clot lysis could lead the plants for their therapeutic uses. However, further work will establish whether or not, chloroform soluble phytochemicals from these plants could be incorporated as a thrombolytic agen...

The Most Promising Cancer-Fighter In Years
For a while now, I’ve been recommending a powerful antioxidant with the unpronounceable name, pyrroloquinoline quinine – or PQQ for short. And although I recommend this compound to almost everyone who comes to see me at my wellness clinic in South Florida because of its energy-giving qualities, I’ve also observed its extraordinary power to fight cancer. For years, I’ve seen PQQ work wonders with my older patients, because it keeps you feeling young by giving your cells extra energy. PQQ was first discovered back in 1979 by a team of Japanese scientists, who knew little about the substance, except that i...

Why You Should Avoid Statins
At my anti-aging clinic, I continue to wage war against what I call the “medical-industrial complex.” And I do it for one reason only – I care more about my patients than I do about profits. Big Pharma clearly takes the opposite view. And now it seems these pharmaceutical behemoths won’t be happy until every man, woman and child is popping anti-cholesterol pills. Researchers at Duke University recently issued a report recommending that even children and people as young as 30 should be on statins, if they have just slightly elevated cholesterol levels.1 And why wouldn’t researchers at Duke recommen...
