Investigating the Efficacy of HPV Vaccines in Preventing Cervical Cancer from 2006 to 2018 in the US: A SEER Data Set Analysis
CONCLUSION: There seems to be little if any, correlation between cervical cancer incidence and the HPV vaccine program in the US. HPV vaccine efficacy based on alternative endpoints, such as nucleic acid testing and cytological, surgical, and seropositivity endpoints, is fair. Therefore, it is important to emphasize such alternative testing and surrogate endpoints.PMID:37046192 | DOI:10.2174/1574887118666230410093715

Precision and correlation of ED < sub > 50 < /sub > and endpoint titer method in measuring HPV vaccine immunogenicity
J Virol Methods. 2023 Mar 23:114716. doi: 10.1016/j.jviromet.2023.114716. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTCervical cancer, the second leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women, is caused by human papillomavirus (HPV), a sexually transmitted virus. Vaccination is an effective preventive measure against viral infections and subsequent development of cervical cancer. Enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) is commonly used to measure specific binding antibody titers and assess the immunogenicity of test vaccines in preclinical models or clinical volunteers. Two methods of deriving titers, the endpoint titer (ET) and ...

Screening and Testing for Hepatitis B Virus Infection: CDC Recommendations - United States, 2023
This report updates and expands CDC's previously published Recommendations for Identification and Public Health Management of Persons with Chronic Hepatitis B Virus Infection (MMWR Recomm Rep 2008;57[No. RR-8]) regarding screening for HBV infection in the United States. New recommendations include hepatitis B screening using three laboratory tests at least once during a lifetime for adults aged ≥18 years. The report also expands risk-based testing recommendations to include the following populations, activities, exposures, or conditions associated with increased risk for HBV infection: persons incarcerated or formerly in...
