Low-dose intravenous recombinant tissue plasminogen activator in acute ischemic stroke without large vessel occlusion screened by 3T MRI
CONCLUSIONS: Our study indicates the efficacy and safety of low-dose rTPA treatment for AIS without LVO within 4.5 hours. Patient selection for rTPA by 3T MRI decreased complications and mortality.PMID:37522667 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202307_33126

Ischemic stroke and ST-elevation myocardial infarction revealing infective endocarditis.
Authors: Joliat GR, Halkic N, Pantet O, Ben-Hamouda N Abstract In this clinical scenario, we report the case of a patient who presented multiple embolic complications due to mitral infective endocarditis (IE). A 68-year-old woman had extended right hepatectomy for hilar cholangiocarcinoma. Unfortunately, she had multiple postoperative complications and had to be transferred to the Intensive Care Unit. During this stay, we have diagnosed an Enterococcus faecium IE after the occurrence of multiple embolic complications (myocardial infarction, ischemic stroke, digital emboli, splenic emboli, and renal emboli). The cas...

The decreased circular RNA hsa_circ_0072309 promotes cell apoptosis of ischemic stroke by sponging miR-100.
CONCLUSIONS: According to these results, this study revealed that the circ_0072309-miR-100-mTOR regulatory axis could alleviate IS, and it may be a potential target for the treatment of IS. PMID: 32373980 [PubMed - in process]

Thrombotic microangiopathy in primary antiphospholipid syndrome is linked to stroke and less deep venous thrombosis
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with pAPS and TMA have distinct clinical and laboratory spectra from those without TMA, that is characterized by an increased frequency of arterial events, stroke, and higher titers of IgG anticardiolipin; they have deep venous thrombosis less frequently.PMID:34919237 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202112_27431
