Impact of COVID-19 on acute ischemic stroke presentation and prognosis in a county-level stroke center
CONCLUSIONS: In county-level city stroke centers, the COVID-19 lockdown resulted in a reduction in the number of patients with AIS admitted to the hospital but had no effect on patients treated with IVT or EVT. Lockdown or new normal status did not influence the prognosis of AIS patients.PMID:35993655 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202208_29429

Association of nutritional indices and prognosis of stroke patients: a systematic review and meta-analysis
CONCLUSIONS: Assessing malnutrition in stroke patients at the time of hospital admission using any of the three nutritional indices is useful due to the observed association of malnutrition with survival and functional outcomes. However, due to a limited number of studies, there is a need for large prospective studies to validate the findings observed in this meta-analysis.PMID:37401317 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202306_32819

The important role of manual aspiration through the guiding catheter during repeated solitaire mechanical thrombectomy in acute ischemic stroke.
CONCLUSIONS: We recommend the use of manual aspiration through a guiding catheter as an alternative technique when a specialized aspiration device is not available, to facilitate a fast, complete, and safe thrombus retrieval by the Solitaire system. PMID: 29077175 [PubMed - in process]

Total cholesterol affects the outcome of patients with anterior cerebral artery-occluded acute ischemic stroke treated with thrombolysis.
CONCLUSIONS: In patients with anterior cerebral artery-occluded AIS, the TC level is a promising prognosis marker for the IV thrombolysis outcome. PMID: 32096200 [PubMed - in process]
