Non Communicable Disease Risk Factors and their Trends in India
Conclusion: India has a much delayed response on NCD risk factors surveillance and information
of the same are sporadic and incomplete. In order to increase information comprehensiveness, standard WHO NCD
risk factors questions must be incorporated in the ongoing surveys. India should also plan for cost and time effective
NCD surveillance system.

Barriers to Cervical Cancer and Breast Cancer Screening Uptake in Low-Income and Middle-Income Countries: A Systematic Review
Conclusions:
Improvements to CCa and BCa screening uptake in LMICs must be accompanied by educational interventions which
aim to improve knowledge and understanding of CCa and BCa and screening to asymptomatic women. It is imperative
for governments and health policy makers in LMICs to implement screening programmes, including educational
interventions, to ensure the prevention and early detection of women with CCa and BCa. These programmes and
policies will be an integral part of a comprehensive population-based CCa and BCa control framework in LMICs.

Association of XRCC2 rs3218536 Polymorphism with Susceptibility of Breast and Ovarian Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: Inconsistent with previous meta-analysis, this meta-analysis shows that the
XRCC2 rs3218536 polymorphism was associated with breast and ovarian cancer risk in overall population, especially
among Caucasians.

Systematic Review of Hospital Based Cancer Registries (HBCRs): Necessary Tool to Improve Quality of Care in Cancer
Patients
Conclusion: Because of the
increases in cancer burden in the world, more attention is needed to be paid on cancer surveillance systems, including
HBCRs. We evaluated and highlighted the importance and characteristics HBCRs and believe that this paper would
help the hospitals and policy makers for planning and establishment of new HBCRs. We suggest the establishment of
a worldwide network for coordination and collaboration between HBCRs.

Demographic Characteristics, Survival and Prognostic Factors of Early Breast Cancer Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus: A Hospital-Based Cohort Study
Conclusion: In the present study, in addition
to known breast cancer risk factors, BMI and type 2 diabetes mellitus had an independent impact on survival of the
patients, highlighting the importance of health issues such as obesity and diabetes suboptimal performance in the
treatment outcomes of early breast cancer patients in Iran.

A Systems Biology Approach Provides Deeper Insights into Differentially Expressed Genes in Taxane-Anthracycline Chemoresistant and Non-Resistant Breast Cancers
Conclusions: Functional gene sets and hub nodes could be considered as potential
treatment targets. Moreover, by screening and enrichment analysis of a chemoresistance network, ligands and chemical
agents have been found that could modify significant gene sets like the phagocytic vesicle membrane functional gene
set as a key to chemoresistance. They could also impact on down- or up-regulated hub nodes.

Association between Polymorphisms of ERCC5 Gene and Susceptibility to Gastric Cancer: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: the current meta-analysis
demonstrates that rs751402 C>T, rs2296147 T>C, and rs873601 G>A polymorphisms of ERCC5 gene are associated
with the susceptibility of gastric cancer.

Long Non Coding RNA Expression Intersecting Cancer and Spermatogenesis: A Systematic Review
Conclusions: Comparison between cancer tissues and gametogenic tissues
has shown that numerous lncRNAs are expressed in both, playing similar roles in processes modulated by signaling
pathways such as Wnt/β-catenin and PI3K/AKT/mTOR. Evaluation of expression patterns and functions of these
genes should pave the way to discovery of biomarkers for early detection, prognostic assessment and evaluation of
therapeutic responses in cancers.

Cancer Detection in Microarray Data Using a Modified Cat Swarm Optimization Clustering Approach
Conclusion: The results showed MCSO-HS to
outperform HS and CSO with both benchmark datasets. To validate the clustering results, this work was tested with
internal and external cluster validation indices. Also this work points to biological validation of clusters with gene
ontology in terms of function, process and component.

Errors in Mammography Cannot be Solved Through Technology Alone
Authors: Ekpo EU, Alakhras M, Brennan P
Abstract
Mammography has been the frontline screening tool for breast cancer for decades. However, high error rates in the
form of false negatives (FNs) and false positives (FPs) have persisted despite technological improvements. Radiologists
still miss between 10% and 30% of cancers while 80% of woman recalled for additional views have normal outcomes,
with 40% of biopsied lesions being benign. Research show that the majority of cancers missed is actually visible and
looked at, but either go unnoticed or are deemed to be benign. Causal agents for these errors include human r...

Effectiveness of Platinum-Based Treatment for Triple Negative Metastatic Breast Cancer: a Meta-Analysis
Conclusions: In this meta-analysis, we
confirmed that PBC regimes provide OS and PFS advantages compared to non-PBC regimes. The use of PBC regimes
could be a good choice in mTNBC patients for better quality of life and survival.
