Diaphragmatic Dysfunction due to Neuralgic Amyotrophy After SARS-CoV-2 Vaccination: A Case Report
We report a 63-year-old man who presented with dyspnea and right shoulder pain after severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) vaccination. His chest radiograph showed an elevated right hemidiaphragm that was absent before vaccination. A pulmonary function test showed a restrictive pattern with a significant reduction (40%) in forced vital capacity in the supine position. Diaphragm ultrasonography revealed a reduction in both diaphragmatic excursion and a thickening fraction of the right hemidiaphragm. Electrophysiological studies suggested a right upper brachial plexopathy. Considering the temporal rela...

A Case Report for Acute Myopericarditis After NVX-CoV2373 (Novavax < sup > ® < /sup > ) COVID-19 Vaccination
We report the first biopsy-proven case of myopericarditis after administration of second dose of NVX-CoV2373 COVID-19 vaccine (Novavax®) in Korea. A 30-year-old man was referred to emergency department with complaints of chest pain and mild febrile sense for two days. He received the second dose vaccine 17 days ago. Acute myopericarditis by the vaccination was diagnosed by cardiac endomyocardial biopsy. He was treated with corticosteroid 1 mg/kg/day for 5 days and tapered for one week. He successfully recovered and was discharged on the 12th day of hospitalization. The present case suggests acute myopericarditis as a vacc...

mRNA COVID-19 Vaccine-Associated Subserosal Eosinophilic Gastroenteritis: A Case Report
J Korean Med Sci. 2022 Aug 1;37(30):e233. doi: 10.3346/jkms.2022.37.e233.ABSTRACTThe World Health Organization declared coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) a global pandemic in March 2020. Several vaccines have been developed to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic, and messenger RNA vaccines, commonly known as mRNA vaccines, were the first COVID-19 vaccines to be authorized in Korea. With the worldwide increase in vaccinations, reports of adverse reactions are increasing. However, to the best of our knowledge, there have been no reports of eosinophilic gastroenteritis (EGE) following mRNA vaccination. Here, we present the first...
