Factors relating to impaired stroke volume during the 6-minute walk test in patients with systemic sclerosis.
CONCLUSIONS: Impaired stroke volume in patients with systemic sclerosis was observed at rest and during exercise, and the factors relating to the cardiac response seemed to be pulmonary function and the extent of pulmonary hypertension. PMID: 27463117 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Hydroxychloroquine exposure reduces the risk of cardiovasular disease events in patients with hypertension or diabetes mellitus
CONCLUSIONS: HCQ has protective effect on CVD events, including both AMI and ischaemic stroke in the patients with traditional risk factors. The protective effect of HCQ on CVD events is prominent in older patients.PMID:37246776 | DOI:10.55563/clinexprheumatol/y7psev

Relationship between cerebrovascular and valvular manifestations in a Serbian cohort of patients with antiphospholipid syndrome.
CONCLUSIONS: In this cross-section analysis of a large cohort of Serbian APS patients, there was a strong relationship between valvular and cerebrovascular manifestations, suggesting a more cautious approach regarding neurological symptoms, especially in PAPS patients with valvular vegetations present. Anaemia and low body mass index are associated with increased cardiovascular disease in patients with Takayasu arteritis.
CONCLUSIONS: Our study suggests that in addition to traditional CV risk factors, anaemia and low body mass index are independently associated with increased CVD in patients with TA. PMID: 26633551 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Comparison of the risks of hospitalisation for cardiovascular events in patients with rheumatoid arthritis treated with tocilizumab and etanercept.
CONCLUSIONS: RA patients with TCZ do not have a medium-term excess of CV risk in patients compared with ETN. PMID: 29303702 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Association between primary Sj ögren's syndrome, cardiovascular and cerebrovascular disease: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: Our study has shown an increased risk of cardiovascular or cerebrovascular disease in patients with pSS. These results support multiple studies' finding of increased arterial stiffness in patients with pSS. PMID: 29600936 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Current surgical approaches in Takayasu's arteritis: a single centre experience.
CONCLUSIONS: In our series, we have a relatively good midterm patency rates in patients with TAK and did not observe any anastomotic pseudoaneurysm. Stroke developed in 2 patients and mortality occurred in one patient due to the graft infection 3 months after the operation. In patients with limited carotid or aorta-iliac stenosis, chance for endarterectomy should be evaluated. Well-controlled disease activity with intensive medical treatment and multi-disciplinary approach could be associated with a favourable long-term outcome. Phenotypic variability including Beh çet's disease-like manifestations in DADA2 patients due to a homozygous c.973-2A > G splice site mutation.
CONCLUSIONS: We describe three families with the same homozygous splice site mutation in ADA2 and observed a novel combination of manifestations resembling Behçet's disease. This further expands the range of phenotypes caused by ADA2 mutations, although no complete genotype-phenotype association could be determined. Even without active disease, the risk of stroke should be addressed in making decisions regarding treatment of DADA2 patients. PMID: 31856934 [PubMed - in process]
