Novel Indices of Cognitive Impairment and Incident Cardiovascular Outcomes in the REWIND Trial
CONCLUSION: Country-standardized SCI-GM was a strong independent predictor of cardiovascular events in people with type 2 diabetes in the REWIND trial.PMID:35446415 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgac200

Research on Early Warning of Ischemic Stroke Based on Atherosclerosis Index Combined with Serum Markers
CONCLUSION: These findings may contribute to the development of new diagnostic methods of potential biomarkers in serum combined with atherosclerosis index, thereby providing early warning for the diagnosis of atherosclerosis-induced ischemic stroke, and may provide a pathogenesis of IS New insights.PMID:35349673 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgac176

C-reactive protein and racial differences in type 2 diabetes incidence: The REGARDS study
CONCLUSIONS: Higher CRP is a risk factor for incident diabetes, but the excess burden of diabetes in Black adults was only seen in those with lower CRP, suggesting that inflammation is unlikely to be the main driver of this racial disparity.PMID:35137178 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgac074

Causal associations between circulating adipokines and cardiovascular disease: A Mendelian randomization study
CONCLUSIONS: Our findings reveal the causal association between resistin and AF, probably acting through blood pressure, and suggest potential causal associations between chemerin and CAD, RBP4 and HF.PMID:35134201 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgac048

Complications of diabetes and metrics of glycaemic management derived from continuous glucose monitoring
CONCLUSIONS: The evidence supports the association between diabetes complications and CGM-derived measures of intra-day glycaemic variability. TIR emerged as the most consistent measure, supporting its emerging role in clinical practice. More longitudinal studies and trials are required to confirm these associations, particularly for type 1 diabetes where there are limited data.PMID:35094087 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgac034

Epidemiology and Comorbidity of Adrenal Cushing Syndrome: A Nationwide Cohort Study
CONCLUSIONS: Adrenal CS is associated with multiple comorbidities even after treatment, which necessitates meticulous postoperative care.PMID:34932806 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgaa752

Causes and Consequences of Polycystic Ovary Syndrome: Insights from Mendelian Randomization
CONCLUSIONS: The accumulation of genome-wide association studies in PCOS has enabled multiple MR analyses identifying factors that may cause PCOS or be caused by PCOS. This knowledge will be critical to future development of measures to prevent PCOS in girls at risk as well as prevent complications in those who have PCOS.PMID:34669940 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgab757

Thyroid status and brain circulation: The Rotterdam Study
CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that thyroid dysfunction could lead to brain diseases such as stroke or dementia through a suboptimal brain circulation that is potentially modifiable.PMID:34634119 | DOI:10.1210/clinem/dgab744
