Serum uric acid levels are associated with macula microvasculature changes in hypertensive white matter hyperintensity patients
CONCLUSIONS: Serum uric acid levels are associated with the microvascular changes in WMH. Fractal dimension based on OCTA imaging could help in the quantitative characterization of the macula microvasculature changes in WMH and may be a potential screening tool to detect serum uric acid level changes.PMID:36305145 | DOI:10.2174/1567202620666221027095220

Relationship of the low-density lipoprotein cholesterol/high-density lipoprotein cholesterol ratio with vulnerable plaque in patients with severe carotid artery stenosis: A case-control study in the Han Chinese population
CONCLUSIONS: LDL-c/HDL-c, smoking and diabetes were independent risk factors for vulnerable plaque in patients with severe CAS, and LDL-c/HDL-c had a higher predictive value for the presence of vulnerable plaque compared with other lipid parameters.PMID:35770391 | DOI:10.2174/1567202619666220629160733

Elongated internal carotid arteries in patients with severe carotid artery stenosis
CONCLUSION: ICA elongation, measured by ICA distance, was positively associated with age and deep WMHs and negatively associated with severe CA stenosis.PMID:34951381 | DOI:10.2174/1567202619666211223143600
