Association of intradialytic hypertension with future cardiovascular events and mortality in hemodialysis patients: effects of ambulatory blood pressure
CONCLUSIONS: IDHTN patients had higher risk for mortality and cardiovascular outcomes but this risk is at least partly confounded by the elevated BP levels during the interdialytic period.PMID:37302385 | DOI:10.1159/000531477

Cognitive Impairment in Advanced Chronic Kidney Disease: The Canadian Frailty Observation and Interventions Trial.
CONCLUSIONS: Our study uncovered a high rate of unrecognized cognitive impairment in an advanced CKD population. This impairment is global, affecting all aspects of cognition and is likely vascular in nature. The longitudinal trajectory of cognitive function and its effect on dialysis decision-making and outcomes deserves further study. PMID: 27798938 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Patients' Characteristics Affect the Survival Benefit of Warfarin Treatment for Hemodialysis Patients with Atrial Fibrillation. A Historical Cohort Study.
CONCLUSION: VKA may provide an early survival benefit; however, this is partially offset later during the follow-up. In addition, heterogeneous risk-benefit profiles were observed among subgroups of dialysis-dependent patients with AF, further emphasizing the complexities of tailoring stroke prevention strategies in this population.
