Impact of aspirin on takotsubo syndrome: a propensity score ‐based analysis of the InterTAK Registry
ConclusionIn the present study, no association was found between aspirin use in TTS patients and a reduced risk of MACCE at 30 ‐day and 5‐year follow‐up. These findings should be confirmed in adequately powered randomized controlled trials.ClinicalTrials.gov Identifier: NCT01947621.

Treatment with 24  hour istaroxime infusion in patients hospitalised for acute heart failure: a randomised, placebo‐controlled trial
ConclusionsIn patients hospitalised for AHF with reduced ejection fraction, a 24  h infusion of istaroxime improved parameters of diastolic and systolic cardiac function without major cardiac adverse effects.

Biventricular pacemaker therapy improves exercise capacity in patients with non ‐obstructive hypertrophic cardiomyopathy via augmented diastolic filling on exercise
ConclusionSymptomatic patients with non ‐obstructive HCM may benefit from BiV pacing via augmentation of diastolic filling on exercise rather than contractile improvement. This may be due to relief of diastolic ventricular interaction.Clinical Trial Registration:ClinicalTrials.gov NCT00504647.

Light ‐chain and transthyretin cardiac amyloidosis in severe aortic stenosis: prevalence, screening possibilities, and outcome
ConclusionBoth TTR ‐ and AL‐CA can accompany severe AS. Parameters solely based on ECG and echocardiography allow for the identification of the majority of CA‐AS. In the present cohort, CA did not significantly worsen prognosis 15.3 months after TAVR.

Impact of left atrial diameter on outcome in patients undergoing edge ‐to‐edge mitral valve repair: results from the German TRAnscatheter Mitral valve Interventions (TRAMI) registry
ConclusionLeft atrial enlargement is a strong and independent predictor of adverse long ‐term outcome after transcatheter mitral valve repair. Further study is warranted to examine whether timely intervention may have the potential to modify outcome.

Incident heart failure in outpatients with chronic coronary syndrome: results from the international prospective CLARIFY registry
ConclusionA sizeable proportion of patients with chronic coronary syndrome develop HF, which only infrequently requires hospitalization. Early identification of patients with HF may lead to early treatment, and help to further decrease mortality and morbidity. This concept needs confirmation in future studies.
