Quantitative biochemical phenotypic heterogeneity of macrophages after myelin debris phagocytosis at a single cell level by synchrotron radiation fourier transform infrared microspectroscopy
In this study, based on the cell model of myelin debris phagocytosis by macrophages in vitro, the biochemical changes in macrophages were investigated using Synchrotron radiation-based Fourier transform infrared (SR-FTIR) microspectroscopy. Infrared spectrum fluctuations, principal component analysis, and cell-to-cell Euclidean distance statistical analysis of specific spectrum regions revealed dynamic and significant changes in proteins and lipids within macrophages after myelin debris phagocytosis. Thus, SR-FTIR microspectroscopy is a powerful identification toolkit for exploring biochemical phenotype heterogeneity trans...

Platinum/carbon dots nanocomposites from palm bunch hydrothermal synthesis as highly efficient peroxidase mimics for ultra-low H < sub > 2 < /sub > O < sub > 2 < /sub > sensing platform through dual mode of colorimetric and fluorescent detection
Anal Chim Acta. 2022 Oct 16;1230:340368. doi: 10.1016/j.aca.2022.340368. Epub 2022 Sep 16.ABSTRACTDetection of hydrogen peroxide and glucose in nanomolar level is crucial for point-of-care medical diagnosis. It has been reported that human's central nervous system diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and even amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, are presumably caused H2O2 or reactive radical species (ROS). Sensing of H2O2 released from human biofluids, tissues, organ from metabolism disorder at ultra-low concentration assists for early identification of severe diabetis mellitus related to glucose, and heart...

A photostable Si-rhodamine-based near-infrared fluorescent probe for monitoring lysosomal pH during heat stroke.
Abstract Heat stroke is a symptom of hyperthermia with a temperature of more than 40 °C, which usually leads to all kinds of physical discomfort and even death. It is necessary to study the mechanism of action of heat stroke on cells or organelles (such as cytotoxicity of heat) and the processes of cells or organelles during heat stroke. Recent studies have shown that there is a certain correlation between heat stroke and lysosome acidity. In order to clarify their relationship, Lyso-NIR-pH, a photostable Si-rhodamine-based near-infrared fluorescent probe, was developed for sensing pH changes in lysosomes durin...

Liquid chromatographic methods for the determination of direct oral anticoagulant drugs in biological samples: A critical review.
Abstract Direct oral anticoagulants (DOACs) are first-line drugs used for the treatment of venous thromboembolism and prevention of stroke in patients with atrial fibrillation. These drugs do not require the regular biochemical monitoring that is mandatory for warfarin, and they exhibit shorter half-lives and have a faster onset of action. Since recent real-world studies evidence a higher prevalence of adverse side effects than what was anticipated in clinical trials, monitoring the plasma concentrations of DOACs is being used to personalize their pharmacotherapy, in accordance to the characteristics of the patien...
