Non-Calcified Coronary Artery Plaque on Coronary Computed Tomography Angiogram: Prevalence and Significance
CONCLUSIONS: NCP is the initial precursor of calcified plaque and serves as a prominent marker of early coronary atherosclerosis. By detecting NCP during early stages, several measures can be implemented which can alter the evolutionary course of the underlying disease. Transient left bundle branch block associated with very high coronary artery calcium: a case report
We present a case of very high CAC in a 64-year-old woman with hypertension, type 2 diabetes, and hyperlipidemia presenting with dyspnea. Initial electrocardiogram (ECG) demonstrated normal conduction with a heart rate of 76 beats/min, but new T-wave inversions in V1-V4 and a high-sensitivity troponin-I (hsTnI) value of 6 ng/L (normal < 6 ng/L). Repeat ECG in the emergency department showed normal sinus rhythm (heart rate of 80 beats/min); however, it subsequently demonstrated a left bundle branch block (LBBB) with a repeat hsTnI of 7 ng/L. Association of Coronary Artery Calcium Detected by Routine Ungated CT Imaging With Cardiovascular Outcomes
CONCLUSIONS: Incidental CAC ≥100 was associated with an increased risk of all-cause death and adverse cardiovascular outcomes, beyond traditional risk factors. Life-threatening gastrointestinal bleeding caused by perforation of a penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer into the esophagus
We present a case of life-threatening gastrointestinal bleeding caused by a penetrating atherosclerotic ulcer (PAU) that ruptured into the esophagus. A 65-year-old man presented with pyrexia and nausea. Contrast-enhanced computed tomography (CT) performed on admission revealed a hematoma between the lower esophagus and descending aorta due to a contained rupture of a PAU, which was undiagnosed at that time. Obstructive jaundice as  a rare complication of multiple pancreaticoduodenal artery aneurysms due to median arcuate ligament syndrome: a case report and review of the literature
CONCLUSION: In unexpected obstructive jaundice due to a mass with vascular origin in the head of the pancreas, PDAA should be considered, and celiac trunk should be evaluated because the main reason for PDAA is celiac trunk stenosis or occlusion by atherosclerosis or MALS.
