The relationship between vertebrobasilar artery calcification and intracranial atherosclerosis-related occlusion in thrombectomy
CONCLUSIONS: We demonstrated that VBAC is an independent risk factor for ICAS-O in patients who underwent thrombectomy. Patients free of atrial fibrillation with VBAC have more trend to be ICAS-O.PMID:36267885 | PMC:PMC9577291 | DOI:10.3389/fneur.2022.965362

Combined use of the GRACE ACS risk score and comorbidity indices to increase the effectiveness of hospital mortality risk assessment in patients with acute coronary syndrome
CONCLUSION: CCI and its own comorbidity model, but not CDS and CIRS, are associated with the risk of hospital mortality. The model for assessing comorbidity on a 9-point scale, but not CCI, CDS and CIRS, can significantly improve the predictive value of the GRACE scale.PMID:36286937 | DOI:10.26442/00403660.2022.07.201742

Coronary stenosis is a risk marker for impaired cardiac function on cardiopulmonary exercise test
CONCLUSION: IHD with increasing atherosclerotic burdens were associated with impaired cardiac output and chronotropic response on CPET. NOCAD should be given more early prevention and rigorous follow-up.PMID:36376809 | DOI:10.1186/s12872-022-02935-9

Artificial neuronal network analysis in investigating the relationship between oxidative stress and endoplasmic reticulum stress to address blocked vessels in cardiovascular disease
CONCLUSIONS: VPO1 and ATF4 might be potential biomarkers associated with coronary artery disease, especially in the follow-up and monitoring of treatment protocols, in addition to traditional risk factors.PMID:36381079 | PMC:PMC9636495 | DOI:10.5937/jomb0-33855

Early diagnosis of intracranial atherosclerotic large vascular occlusion: A prediction model based on DIRECT-MT data
CONCLUSION: Our current prediction model based on clinical data of patients from the DIRECT-MT trial might be a promising tool for predicting ICAS-LVO.PMID:36408511 | PMC:PMC9670732 | DOI:10.3389/fneur.2022.1026815

Low-Density Lipoprotein Cholesterol Is Predominantly Associated With Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Events in Patients With Evidence of Coronary Atherosclerosis: The Western Denmark Heart Registry
CONCLUSIONS: LDL-C appears to be almost exclusively associated with ASCVD events over ≈5 years of follow-up in middle-aged individuals with versus without evidence of coronary atherosclerosis. This information is valuable for individualized risk assessment among middle-aged people with or without coronary atherosclerosis.PMID:36621817 | DOI:10.1161/CIRCULATIONAHA.122.061010

SARS-CoV-2 infection and SLE: endothelial dysfunction, atherosclerosis, and thrombosis
We present systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) as a model rheumatic disease with endothelial dysfunction and discuss its mechanisms, factors that influence the early onset and rapid progression of atherosclerosis, and the increased risk of thromboembolic events. We focus on established methods to improve endothelium function, including statins, antiplatelet, and antithrombotic therapy. Hypercoagulable and hypofibrinolitic states and a hyperinflammatory response characterize severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection. Several pathogenic mechanisms are typical for an acute phase of Covid-19 post-Co...

Clinical Characteristics and Prognosis of MINOCA Caused by Atherosclerotic and Nonatherosclerotic Mechanisms Assessed by OCT
CONCLUSIONS: OCT identified a cause in 61.1% of MINOCA, in which Ath-MINOCA represents an important and distinct MINOCA subset. Ath-MINOCA were more common and associated with worse outcomes. The Versatility of Atherosclerotic Cardiovascular Disease Risk Score in Determination of Popliteal Artery Branches Patency in Computed Tomography Angiography
CONCLUSIONS: The 10-year ASCVD risks showed significant higher values in the greater than or equal to 50% stenosis group of popliteal, anterior tibial, and posterior tibial arteries. These findings can establish the further study on how ASCVD risks can be applied to predict the stenosis of these arteries and guide the rationale of preoperative leg CTA for FFF harvest.PMID:36733947 | PMC:PMC9886511 | DOI:10.1097/GOX.0000000000004791
