A Retrospective Cohort Study Comparing Stroke Recurrence Rate in Ischemic Stroke Patients With and Without Acupuncture Treatment
This study compared the risk of stroke recurrence between ischemic stroke cohorts with and without acupuncture treatment by calculating adjusted hazard ratios (HRs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs) of acupuncture associated with stroke recurrence in the Cox proportional hazard model. The stroke recurrence rate per 1000 person-years decreased from 71.4 without to 69.9 with acupuncture treatment (P

The effect and biomechanical mechanisms of intradermal needle for post-stroke hemiplegia recovery: Study protocol for a randomized controlled pilot trial
This study attempts to investigate the biomechanical effects of intradermal needle for post-stroke hemiplegia recovery. This proposed study is a single-centered, prospective, single-blinded (patient-assessor-blinded), randomized clinical pilot trial involving 40 patients with post-stroke hemiplegia. Patients will be randomized to an experimental group or control group in a 1:1 ratio. All of them will receive conventional rehabilitation therapies. Patients in the experimental group will be treated with intradermal needle, whereas patients in the control group will receive sham intradermal needle. The primary outcome measur...

Observation for the effect of rTMS combined with magnetic stimulation at Neiguan (PC6) and Sanyinjiao (SP6) points on limb function after stroke: A study protocol
Conclusion: The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of repetitive magnetic stimulation of M1 region combined with magnetic stimulation of Neiguan and Sanyinjiao points on limb function after stroke. Through this study, we expect to explore a new scheme for the treatment of poststroke dyskinesia, and prove that compared with rTMS and acupuncture alone, the closed-loop rehabilitation theory based on “center peripheral center” can be more efficient and safe in the treatment of poststroke limb dysfunction. Trial Registration: The trial was registered in China clinical trial registry (http://www.chictr.or...

Effect of acupuncture treatment on post-stroke cognitive impairment: A randomized controlled trial
Introduction: Post-stroke cognitive impairment (PSCI), which has a high morbidity, is closely associated with the recurrence and rehabilitation of ischemic stroke. There are 2 different stages of PSCI, including post-stroke cognitive impairment with no dementia (PSCIND) and post-stroke dementia (PSD). The latter has a significantly higher mortality rate than the previous one. Therefore, preventing the onset of PSD is of vital importance. However, there is no unequivocally effective prevention or treatment for PSCI, except intensive secondary prevention of stroke. The primary aim of this protocol is to explore whether a...
