< b > < i > CYP1B1 < /i > < /b > Genetic Variants (rs10916 and rs2855658) Are Associated with Increased Risk of Ischemic Stroke in Chinese Han Population
Conclusion:CYP1B1-rs10916 andCYP1B1-rs2855658 can increase the IS risk in Chinese Han population who are ≥60 years old, smoking, or drinking alcohol.Cerebrovasc Dis

Effect of Magnesium on Deterioration and Symptomatic Hemorrhagic Transformation in Cerebral Ischemia: An Ancillary Analysis of the FAST-MAG Trial
Conclusions: Treatment with Mg did not significantly reduce rates of clinical deterioration or symptomatic HT. Future analysis should address whether treatment with Mg could have influenced the subgroup with low serum Mg at baseline.Cerebrovasc Dis

Prognostic Value of Stress Hyperglycaemia Ratio in Young Patients with Ischaemic Stroke or Transient Ischaemic Attack
Conclusion: The SHR is independently related to more severe stroke and an increased risk of poor functional outcomes among young adults with ischaemic stroke or TIA.Cerebrovasc Dis

Tirofiban for Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients Receiving Intravenous Thrombolysis: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis
Conclusion: Intravenous tirofiban could be safe for patients with AIS undergoing IVT, regardless of receiving EVT. Intravenous tirofiban may reduce mortality rates for patients undergoing bridging therapy. It also could increase the likelihood of a favorable functional outcome, especially for patients receiving IVT only.Cerebrovasc Dis

Ethnic-Associated Phenotype Variations in Moyamoya Cerebrovascular Outcomes
Conclusion: This study highlights the unique features and phenotypes of moyamoya cases among different ethnicities. While possibly AA are protected from developing AIS due to underlying causes of moyamoya such as sickle cell disease, Asians seems to be more susceptible to hemorrhagic stroke.Cerebrovasc Dis

Effects of Hyperferritinemia on Functional Outcome in Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients with Admission Hyperglycemia
Conclusions: High iron status, presented as hyperferritinemia, is associated with poor 3-month functional outcome in AIS patients with hyperglycemia. Evaluating serum ferritin level may be conducive to assess the risk of short-term poor outcome in AIS patients with hyperglycemia. Further studies will be required to confirm our findings.Cerebrovasc Dis

How to Avoid Misdiagnosing Spontaneous Cervical Spinal Epidural Hematoma as Ischemic Stroke: 3 Case Reports and Literature Review
We reported 3 SCEH patients who were initially suspected as IS in our center between Jun 2020 and April 2022 and analyzed their clinical characteristics together with 48 patients reported in the literature from Jan 1995 to April 2022. Two of the 3 SCEH patients had neck symptoms, while none of them presented cranial nerve symptoms. Cranial computed tomography (CT) scans were negative; however, abnormal signals in the cervical spinal canal were observed during cranial computed tomography angiography (CTA) and subsequent cervical CT confirmed the diagnosis of SCEH. All of them avoid mistreatment with recombinant tissue plasm...

Modelling the Long-Term Health Outcome and Costs of Thrombectomy in Treating Stroke Patients with Large Ischaemic Core: Comparison between Clinical Trials and Real-World Data
Conclusions: Our results highlight the potential gaps when implementing an effective intervention in the real world and the importance of the rigorous selection of large infarct core patients for EVT.Cerebrovasc Dis

Global Cortical Atrophy Is Associated with an Unfavorable Outcome in Stroke Patients on Oral Anticoagulation
Conclusion: GCA was associated with our composite outcome also after adjusting for other cSVD markers (i.e., CMB, WMH) and age, indicating that GCA may potentially serve as a prognostic marker for stroke patients with atrial fibrillation on oral anticoagulation.Cerebrovasc Dis

Prehospital Ultra-Early Neurological Deterioration in Intracerebral Hemorrhage: Definition, Prevalence, and Association with Outcomes
Conclusion: Prehospital UND occurs in approximately 1 in 7 patients between symptom onset and admission and is associated with poor functional outcome in patients with ICH. Further research is needed to investigate the prehospital UND in the prehospital phase in the triage of patients with ICH.Cerebrovasc Dis

Aminotransferase Level and the Effects of Dual Antiplatelet in Minor Stroke or Transient Ischemic Attack: A post hoc Analysis of a Randomized Control Trial
Conclusions: Dual antiplatelet treatment was safe for minor stroke or high-risk TIA patients with mildly elevated aminotransferase. Mild elevation of ALT or AST did not undermine the protective efficacy of the dual antiplatelet regimen in reducing recurrent stroke or TIA within 90 days after MIS or TIA. The interaction between the CYP2C19 loss-of-function allele carrier status and aminotransferase level on the efficacy of dual antiplatelet treatment was not observed.Cerebrovasc Dis

Association of Intravenous Tirofiban with Functional Outcomes in Acute Ischemic Stroke Patients with Acute Basilar Artery Occlusion Receiving Endovascular Thrombectomy
Conclusions: In patients with acute BAO stroke who underwent endovascular treatment, intravenous tirofiban might be associated with favorable outcome, reduced mortality, and a decreased frequency of ICH.Cerebrovasc Dis

Potential Embolic Sources in Embolic Stroke of Undetermined Source Patients with Patent Foramen Ovale
Conclusion: A large proportion of ESUS patients with PFOs had concomitant PESs. The presence of concomitant PESs was associated with older age and a lower RoPE score. Further, large cohort studies are warranted to investigate the significance of the PES and their overlap with PFOs in ESUS.Cerebrovasc Dis
