Venous return in acute ischaemic stroke patients measured during computed tomography angiography of head and neck
CONCLUSIONS: Although no clinical benefit was proven as a result of measuring the time it took contrast media to reach the aorta, our study implies that not only is the brain subject to circulation, but it may also affect its functioning.PMID:34477214 | DOI:10.5603/PJNNS.a2021.0060

Direct admission vs. secondary transfer for mechanical thrombectomy: long-term clinical outcomes from a single Polish Comprehensive Stroke Centre
CONCLUSIONS: Our study shows that direct admission to a comprehensive stroke centre resulted in more patients achieving excellent treatment outcomes (mRS 0-1). At the same time, the superiority of the MT model over the DAS model in obtaining mRS 0-2 was not unequivocally demonstrated. Further studies are needed to determine the best stroke model for patients potentially eligible for MT.PMID:34346053 | DOI:10.5603/PJNNS.a2021.0050

Neurological symptoms in hospitalised patients with COVID-19 and their association with in-hospital mortality
CONCLUSIONS: Most hospitalised patients with COVID-19 experience neurological symptoms. Decreased level of consciousness, delirium, arterial hypotension, and stroke during or before hospitalisation increase the risk of in-hospital mortality.PMID:34037979 | DOI:10.5603/PJNNS.a2021.0039

4C Mortality Score correlates with in-hospital functional outcome after COVID-19-associated ischaemic stroke
CONCLUSIONS AND CLINICAL IMPLICATIONS: 4C Mortality Score predicts functional outcome at discharge in COVID-19-associated AIS patients.PMID:33949676 | DOI:10.5603/PJNNS.a2021.0037
