Coaching-Based Teleoccupational Guidance for Home-Based Stroke Survivors and Their Family Caregivers: Study Protocol for a Superior Randomized Controlled Trial
Discussion. This trial will assess the effects of CTG compared with standard telerehabilitation. We believe that the results of this study will add to the understanding of occupational therapy for stroke survivors in home-based rehabilitation and provide a reference for developing health policy and facilitating other chronic management. Trial Registration Number. The Chinese Clinical Trial Registry ChiCTR2200061107.PMID:36045653 | PMC:PMC9423950 | DOI:10.1155/2022/9123498

Effects of Different Doses of Clopidogrel plus Early Rehabilitation Therapy on Motor Function and Inflammatory Factors in Patients with Ischemic Stroke
Evid Based Complement Alternat Med. 2022 Jun 14;2022:9692382. doi: 10.1155/2022/9692382. eCollection 2022.ABSTRACTThis prospective randomized controlled study was intended to assess the effects of different doses of clopidogrel plus early rehabilitation therapy on motor function and inflammatory factors in patients with ischemic stroke. Between August 2018 and October 2020, 90 cases of ischemic stroke treated in the Second People's Hospital of Yibin were randomized at a ratio of 1 : 1 to receive either oral 50 mg/d clopidogrel plus early rehabilitation therapy (low-dose group) or oral 75 mg/d clopidogrel plus early rehabil...

Analysis of Influencing Factors of Compliance with Non-Vitamin K Antagonist Oral Anticoagulant in Patients with Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation and Correlation with the Severity of Ischemic Stroke
In this study, a total of 156 patients with NVAF who received NOAC anticoagulation therapy in our hospital from January 2018 to January 2019 were retrospectively analyzed. The results showed that education background, place of residence, number of complications, CHA2DS2-VASc score, and HAS-BLED score were independent influencing factors for NOACS compliance of NVAF patients. Also, the Pearson correlation analysis showed that there was a negative correlation (r = -0.465, P < 0.001) between NOAC compliance and severity of ischemic stroke in patients with NVAF. Therefore, clinical supervision and management of patients wit...

Effect of Acute Limb Ischemia on the Mortality of Patients with Extracorporeal Membrane Oxygenation Established by Femoral Vein-Arterial Catheterization and Analysis of Related Risk Factors
This study aims to explore the impact of ALI on the mortality of VA-ECMO patients in hospital and 6 months after discharge and analyze the occurrence of ALI and related factors that affect the mortality of VA-ECMO in hospital and 6 months after discharge. The results showed that the smoking history was an independent risk factor for ALI, and age, diabetes, cardiac arrest, first time of ECMO, and hyperbilirubinemia were associated risk factors for in-hospital mortality. Cardiac arrest and ALI were associated risk factors for mortality at 6 months after discharge. Although ALI is not significantly associated with VA-ECMO in-...

Comparative Analysis of the Effect of Low-Frequency Repeated Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation and Extracorporeal Shock Wave on Improving the Spasm of Flexor after Stroke
In this study, we examined and recorded the levels of UE motor section of the Fugl-Meyer Motor Assessment Scale (FMA-UE), myoelectric signal time-domain range integral values (iEMG), Modified Ashworth Scale (MAS), and Modified Barthel Index (MBI) before and after treatment to observe the differences in treatment effects between rTMS and ESWT in patients with PSS. 66 patients with PSS were enrolled in the study and signed an informed consent form, and the study was approved by the Ethics Committee of the First Hospital of Soochow University (2019008). The patients were divided into rTMS group, ESWT group, and regular group ...

Neuromodulatory Effect of Sensorimotor Network Functional Connectivity of Temporal Three-Needle Therapy for Ischemic Stroke Patients with Motor Dysfunction: Study Protocol for a Randomized, Patient-Assessor Blind, Controlled, Neuroimaging Trial.
Discussion. The results will explore the neuromodulatory effects and illustrate the central mechanism of temporal three-needle treatment from the network-level viewpoint of sensorimotor network functional plasticity and promote widespread application in real-world practice. This trial was registered at Chinese Clinical Trial Registry on 14 March 2018 with ChiCTR1800015209. PMID: 33488759 [PubMed]

The Discriminative Efficacy of Retinal Characteristics on Two Traditional Chinese Syndromes in Association with Ischemic Stroke.
Authors: Zhuo YY, Wu JM, Kuang L, Qu YM, Zee B, Lee J, Yang ZX Abstract We aimed to investigate the efficacy of an objective method using AI-based retinal characteristic analysis to automatically differentiate between two traditional Chinese syndromes that are associated with ischemic stroke. Inpatient clinical and retinal data were retrospectively retrieved from the archive of our hospital. Patients diagnosed with cerebral infarction in the department of acupuncture and moxibustion between 2014 and 2018 were examined. Of these, the patients with Qi deficiency blood stasis syndrome (QDBS) and phlegm stasis in chann...

Safety of Acupuncture in Patients Taking Newer Oral Anticoagulants: A Retrospective Chart Review Study.
The objective of this study was to assess the safety of acupuncture in patients taking NOACs. The medical records in the Stroke Center at Kyung Hee University Korean Medicine Hospital were retrospectively reviewed to identify patients who had received acupuncture between January 2017 and September 2017. The patients were divided into groups according to whether they were taking an NOAC, an antiplatelet agent, or no anticoagulant therapy. Bleeding-related side effects that occurred immediately after removal of acupuncture needles were recorded. Three hundred and sixteen patients underwent 10,177 acupuncture sessions during ...
