C-reactive protein, renal function, and cardiovascular outcome in patients with symptomatic peripheral artery disease and preserved left ventricular systolic function.
CONCLUSION: Elevated admission CRP and renal impairment are independent predictors of MACE in symptomatic PAD patients with preserved LVEF. PMID: 26321028 [PubMed - in process]

Pretransplant and perioperative predictors of early heart transplantation outcomes.
Conclusion. Pretransplant predictors of adverse outcome after heart transplantation were recipient age, lower BMI, ischemic cardiomyopathy, reoperation and diabetes. Postoperative predictors of mortality were inferior donor heart hemodynamics, epinephrine use, and serum lactate concentrations. Non-survivors were more likely to require re-sternotomy, MCS, and RRT. Determination of the effects of pulmonary arterial hypertension and therapy on the cardiovascular system of rats by impedance cardiography.
Conclusion. PAH did not have an effect on LV function of rats, or if it did, the effect was compensated by physiological processes. Also, sildenafil treatment deteriorated the LV cardiac index. PMID: 25358882 [PubMed - in process]

Multiple presence of prothrombotic risk factors in Croatian children with arterial ischemic stroke and transient ischemic attack.
Conclusion. The presence of multiple prothrombotic risk factors in children with cerebrovascular disorder suggests that a combination of risk factors rather than individual risk factors could contribute to cerebrovascular disorders in children. PMID: 23986275 [PubMed - in process]
