E-145 Mortality following mechanical thrombectomy for ischemic stroke in patients with COVID-19
ConclusionOverall, this study indicates that COVID-19 is a predictor of mortality among mechanical thrombectomy. This finding is likely multifactorial but may be related to multisystem inflammation, hypercoagulability, and re-occlusion seen in COVID-19 patients. E-166 The effect of covid-19 on treatment and outcomes following ischemic stroke: a national assessment
ConclusionThis study identified a relationship between COVID-19 diagnosis and worse outcomes for each metric assessed. Most notably, even when controlling for disease-related factors, patients with COVID-19 were significantly less likely to undergo mechanical thrombectomy. Further, COVID-19 was associated with increased in-hospital mortality and worsened discharge disposition, although the exact causal relationship of this is unclear. P-028 Impact of the covid-19 pandemic on the intracranial aneurysm treatment and associated outcomes: a propensity score matching study
Conclusions and RelevanceThe COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted the healthcare system and has led to changes in the treatment of various neurological conditions, including ICAs. The pandemic resulted in a shift in the treatment of SAH and an increase in endovascular procedures over open surgical clipping. COVID-19 infection has been associated with an increased risk of ischemic stroke and worsened outcomes for stroke patients. Higher Hospital Frailty Risk Score is associated with increased complications and healthcare resource utilization after endovascular treatment of ruptured intracranial aneurysms
Conclusions Our study found that greater frailty as defined by the HFRS was associated with increased complications, LOS, total costs, and non-routine discharge.

Cerebral venous thrombosis after COVID-19 vaccination: the role for endovascular treatment
Cerebral venous thrombosis (CVT) is a unique cause of stroke. Population-based studies demonstrate an incidence of clinically significant CVT of 1.3–1.5 per 100 000 per year.1 2 This may be an underestimated incidence, as these studies were not based on review of imaging and the often benign nature of this entity may lead to underdiagnoses. E-070 The use of inpatient virtual shared medical appointments for patients with acute cerebrovascular pathologies and their caregivers: a pilot study to improve health literacy, patient self-efficacy and reduce provider burnout
ConclusionsImplementation of a vSMA program at a tertiary care center during a pandemic was feasible. Themes caregivers expressed on the post-survey included better understanding of caring for a stroke patient, and coping with the unpredictability of a patient’s prognosis. E-089 Changes in mechanical thrombectomy incidence rate at a comprehensive stroke center before and after Covid-19 shutdown
ConclusionThere appears to be a 3-fold decrease in MT presenting to the emergency department at our institution since the COVID-19 shutdown while ‘drip and shipped’ and in-patient admits have increased slightly. For patients admitted to the emergency department, there was a statistically significant ~25-minute increased arrival-to-puncture time after COVID-19 shutdowns. Further monitoring of presentation over the next year as the pandemic wanes will be revealing to any lasting impact on patient triage and treatment based on the COVID-19 pandemic.Disclosures B. ConclusionCOVID-19 was an independent predictor of incomplete revascularization and poor outcomes in patients with stroke due to LVO.
