Utilization of Anticoagulant and Antiplatelet Agents Among Patients With Atrial Fibrillation Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention - Retrospective Cohort Study Using a Nationwide Claims Database in Japan.
CONCLUSIONS: Among Japanese AF patients who underwent PCI, prescriptions for antiplatelet agents were more common than those for anticoagulant agents. The majority of study participants were classified as high risk, suggesting a need for a new risk classification that reflects the risk profiles of Japanese patients. Comparison of Percutaneous Coronary Intervention, Coronary Artery Bypass Grafting and Medical Therapy in Non-ST Elevation Acute Coronary Syndrome Patients With 3-Vessel Disease.
CONCLUSIONS: In NSTE-ACS patients with 3VD, CABG is independently associated with a lower risk of long-term cardiac death, revascularization and MACCE compared with PCI. Patients who received MT alone had the highest risk of long-term MACCE. PMID: 32848116 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Efficacy and Safety of Adjusted-Dose Prasugrel Compared With Clopidogrel in Japanese Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome.
Conclusions: Prasugrel 20/3.75mg was associated with a low incidence of ischemic events, similar to the results of TRITON-TIMI 38, and with a low risk of clinically serious bleeding in Japanese ACS patients. PMID: 24759796 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Prasugrel, a Third-Generation P2Y12 Receptor Antagonist, in Patients With Coronary Artery Disease Undergoing Elective Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
Conclusions:These results support the risk-benefit profile of an adjusted dosing regimen of prasugrel in Japanese patients undergoing PCI. Larger studies are required to confirm these findings. PMID: 25342212 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Ticagrelor vs. Clopidogrel in Japanese, Korean and Taiwanese Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome - Randomized, Double-Blind, Phase III PHILO Study.
CONCLUSIONS: In ACS patients from Japan, Taiwan and South Korea, event rates of primary safety and efficacy endpoints were higher, albeit not significantly, in ticagrelor-treated patients compared with clopidogrel-treated patients. This observation could be explained by the small sample size, imbalance in clinical characteristics and low number of events in the PHILO population. Ad hoc vs. Non-ad hoc Percutaneous Coronary Intervention Strategies in Patients With Stable Coronary Artery Disease.
CONCLUSIONS: Ad hoc PCI in stable CAD patients was associated with at least comparable 5-year clinical outcomes as with non-ad hoc PCI. Considering patients' preference and the cost-saving, the ad hoc PCI strategy might be a safe and attractive option for patients with stable CAD, although the prevalence of ad hoc PCI was low in the current study population. Clinical Characteristics and Long-Term Outcomes of Rotational Atherectomy - J2T Multicenter Registry.
CONCLUSIONS: This study has provided the largest Japanese dataset for long-term follow-up of RA. Although RA in calcified lesions appears feasible with a high rate of procedural success, a high incidence of MACE was observed. PMID: 28931790 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Clinical Impact of the Ankle-Brachial Index in Patients Undergoing Successful Percutaneous Coronary Intervention.
CONCLUSIONS: This study suggested that ABI provides additional information for cardiovascular disease risk stratification in Japanese patients undergoing PCI, even it is borderline ABI. PMID: 29618695 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Duration of Clopidogrel-Based Dual Antiplatelet Therapy and Clinical Outcomes in Patients With Acute Coronary Syndrome Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention - A Real-World Observation in Taiwan From 2012 to 2015.
CONCLUSIONS: Our data showed that short duration of DAPT (≤9 months) was common (42.1%) in Taiwan for ACS patients undergoing PCI. DAPT ≤9 months increased the risk of the primary outcome. PMID: 31061379 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Comparison Between Clopidogrel and Prasugrel Associated With CYP2C19 Genotypes in Patients Receiving Percutaneous Coronary Intervention in a Japanese Population.
CONCLUSIONS: Among patients with theCYP2C19LOF allele, the use of clopidogrel was significantly associated with increased adverse events. Thus, further investigation is needed to establish the practical use ofCYP2C19genotyping. PMID: 32713878 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
