Long Distance Travel Potentiates Other Novel Risk Factors in PFO Related Strokes - "Economy Class Strokes" (S55.006)
ConclusionPFOs are highly prevalent in the general population, but they are usually only discovered after a stroke - so effective risk assessment and prevention are key. Our results suggest that both air and land travel are risk factors for PFO-related stroke, and the coexistence of additional risk factors potentiates risk associated with immobilization.
