Current Status and Time Trends of Oral Anticoagulation Use Among Chinese Patients With Nonvalvular Atrial Fibrillation: The Chinese Atrial Fibrillation Registry Study Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— An improvement of OAC use among Chinese patients with AF in Beijing is observed in recent years although only 36.5% of patients with CHA2DS2-VASc score ≥2 received OAC. However, variations between different hospitals were large, suggesting that better education and awareness are needed to improve efforts for stroke prevention among AF patients. Longitudinal Effects of a Decade of Aging on Carotid Artery Stiffness: The Multiethnic Study of Atherosclerosis Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— Arterial stiffening accelerates with advanced age. Older individuals experience greater increases in YEM than do younger adults, even after considering the effects of traditional risk factors. Treating hypertension may slow the progressive decline in carotid artery distensibility observed with aging and improve cerebrovascular health.

Conclusions— Strictly lobar, but not deep or infratentorial, CMBs are associated with changes in cognitive function, especially in visuospatial executive functions. Cerebral amyloid angiopathy may be the underlying pathology associated with CMB-related cognitive impairment.

Conclusions—CMBs are a common vascular pathology in the elderly. Markers of hypertensive small-vessel disease may contribute to deep CMBs while cerebral amyloid angiopathy may drive development of lobar CMBs.

Conclusions— In patients with mild cognitive impairment and small vessel disease, diffusion tensor imaging-measured white matter microstructural damage is more related to MoCA than mini mental state examination performances. Progression of White Matter Disease and Cortical Thinning Are Not Related in Older Community-Dwelling Subjects Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— Our results show that WMH volume and cortical thinning both worsen with age and are associated cross-sectionally within and surrounding the Sylvian fissure. However, changes in WMH volume and cortical thinning from 73 to 76 years are not associated longitudinally in these relatively healthy older subjects. The underlying cause(s) of WMH growth and cortical thinning have yet to be fully determined.
