Implementation of a Structured Guideline-Based Program for the Secondary Prevention of Ischemic Stroke in China Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— The implementation of a program to improve adherence to secondary ischemic stroke prevention efforts in China is feasible, but these programs had only a limited impact on adherence and no impact on 1-year outcomes. Further development of a structured program to reduce vascular events after stroke is needed. Clinical Trial Registration—URL: http://www.clinicaltrials.gov. Unique identifier: NCT00664846.

Socioeconomic Inequalities in the Prescription of Oral Anticoagulants in Stroke Patients With Atrial Fibrillation Clinical Sciences
Conclusion— Differences by age, income, education, and country of birth were found in the prescribing of OACs after stroke. Differences were not explained by common risk factors. This indicates socioeconomic inequalities in the prescribing of preventive treatment after stroke.

Socioeconomic Status Inconsistency and Risk of Stroke Among Japanese Middle-Aged Women Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— High academic qualifications without an appropriate job could be a risk factor for stroke among Japanese women. Our result suggests that status inconsistency could be a potential explanation for the increased stroke risk among highly educated women.

Does Socioeconomic Status or Acculturation Modify the Association Between Ethnicity and Hypertension Treatment Before Stroke? Brief Reports
Conclusions— We found no evidence that socioeconomic status or acculturation modifies the association between ethnicity and hypertension treatment before stroke.

Montreal Cognitive Assessment 5-Minute Protocol Is a Brief, Valid, Reliable, and Feasible Cognitive Screen for Telephone Administration Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— The MoCA 5-minute protocol is a free, valid, and reliable cognitive screen for stroke and transient ischemic attack. It is brief and highly feasible for telephone administration.

Benchmarking Telestroke Proficiency Brief Report
Background and Purpose—Formal telestroke training for neurovascular fellows (NVFs) is necessary because of growing use of telestroke technologies in the management of acute ischemic stroke; yet, educational approaches and training benchmarks are not formalized. Time between telestroke consultant page and tissue-type plasminogen activator administration (page-to-needle time, PTNT) can provide an objective measure of proficiency. We compared PTNT between NVFs and neurovascular attendings (NVAs) and evaluated changes in PTNT with experience. Methods—We identified suspected acute ischemic stroke patients in our telestroke r...

Functional Trajectories, Cognition, and Subclinical Cerebrovascular Disease Clinical Sciences
Conclusions—PI-SBI moderated the association between cognition and functional trajectories, with 3-fold greater decline among those with PI-SBI (compared with no PI-SBI) and normal baseline cognition. This highlights the strong and independent association between subclinical markers and patient-centered trajectories over time.

Cardiovascular Risk Profile and Cognitive Function in Young, Middle-Aged, and Elderly Subjects Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— In this large population–based cohort, a worse overall cardiovascular risk profile was associated with poorer cognitive function. This association was already present in young adults aged 35 to 44 years.

Incidence of Transient Ischemic Attack in Auckland, New Zealand, in 2011 to 2012 Clinical Sciences
Conclusions— This study describes the burden of TIA in an era of aggressive primary and secondary vascular risk factor management. Education programs for medical practitioners and patients around the identification and management of atrial fibrillation are required.

Visual Aids for Patient, Family, and Physician Decision Making About Endovascular Thrombectomy for Acute Ischemic Stroke Clinical Sciences
Conclusions—Visual decision aids are now available to rapidly educate healthcare providers, patients, and families about benefits and risks of endovascular thrombectomy, both when added to IV tPA in tPA-eligible patients and as the sole reperfusion treatment in tPA-ineligible patients.

Knowledge of Thrombolytic Therapy Amongst Hospital Staff: Preliminary Results and Treatment Implications Brief Reports
Conclusions— Hospital staff had adequate knowledge of stroke signs and symptoms; however, there was low awareness of thrombolysis therapy and its correct treatment time window among hospital staff. Targeted educational programmes among hospital staff regarding stroke are required to optimize acute stroke care.

Montreal Cognitive Assessment: One Cutoff Never Fits All Brief Reports
Conclusions— Conventional single cutoff scores are associated with substantially high rates of misclassification especially in older and less-educated patients with stroke. These results caution against the use of one-size-fits-all cutoffs on the MoCA.
