Epidemiology of Ischemic Strokes and Transient Ischemic Attacks in the Oldest Old (P2.308)
Conclusion: Most patients 85-years or older, in our study, were women. More than half of the strokes were embolic. A substantial number of patients received thrombolysis and almost a third of patients were discharged to acute rehabilitation. Older patients benefit from aggressive stroke management and have potential for meaningful recovery. Age should not be a major limiting factor in the treatment of stroke in this population.Disclosure: Dr. Garcia Santibanez has nothing to disclose. Dr. Skliut has nothing to disclose.

Health Coaching for Secondary Prevention in TIA Clinic (P5.148)
Conclusions: Structured health coaching for improving medication adherence of secondary stroke prevention medications can be a feasible in a community based outpatient setting for high cardiovascular risk patients. We will be implementing this care pathway in 2015 at Virginia Mason in Seattle, WA to evaluate the feasibility of the intervention, and assess adoption rate by patients and providers. This is supported by NIH UL1 TR001085.Disclosure: Dr. Tai has nothing to disclose. Dr. Carter has nothing to disclose. Dr. Conley has nothing to disclose. Dr. Kalanithi has nothing to disclose. Internet Teaching of the Neurologic Examination and OSCE Performance in the Neurology Clerkship (s19.006)
CONCLUSIONS Using www.neuroexam.com significantly improved students’ performance on a Stroke OSCE compared to online NIHSS training, with similar trends for Headache and Neuropathy. General neurologic examination training rather than focused stroke examination training may be more helpful for students, even when examining stroke patients. Online websites with teaching videos may represent a viable model for improving students’ skills with the neurologic examination. An 8-Week Lifestyle Educational Program Improves Depression Related to Reduced Blood Flow (P4.392)
Conclusions: The 8-week depression recovery program was associated with significant improvement in the vast majority (90[percnt]) of participants with heart failure or stroke. In order to see if treatment was the cause of the improvement it needs to be compared to a control group that does not participate. A long-term follow-up study would also be beneficial.Disclosure: Dr. Ramirez has nothing to disclose. Dr. Antuna has nothing to disclose. Mild cognitive impairment: Incidence and vascular risk factors in a population-based cohort
Conclusion: Incidence of MCI increased with age regardless of definition and did not vary by sex or education. Several vascular risk factors elevated the risk of incident MCI, whether defined cognitively or functionally, but most were associated with nonamnestic MCI and CDR = 0.5. Controlling vascular risk may potentially reduce risk of MCI.
