Ultrason Sonochem. 2023 Aug 28;99:106570. doi: 10.1016/j.ultsonch.2023.106570. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTIn this work, different mass loadings of MXene-coupled MIL-101(Cr) (MXe/MIL-101(Cr)) nanocomposites were generated through a hydrothermal process in order to investigate the potential of this nanocomposite as a novel sonocatalyst for the elimination of sulfadiazine (SD) and acetaminophen (AAP) in aqueous media. The sonocatalytic activity of different MXe/MIL-101(Cr) compositions and surface functionalities was investigated. In addition, the sonocatalytic activities at various pH values, temperatures, pollutant conce...

Simultaneous degradation of contaminants of emerging concern and disinfection by solar photoelectro-Fenton process at circumneutral pH in a solar electrochemical raceway pond reactor
Chemosphere. 2023 Sep 1:139978. doi: 10.1016/j.chemosphere.2023.139978. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTSimultaneous contaminants of emerging concern (CECs) removal and wild microorganisms' inactivation was evaluated by applying solar photoelectro-Fenton (SPEF) process in actual secondary effluent collected from a real municipal wastewater treatment plant (MWWTP). 20 L of a mixture of four CECs was used as model pollutants (200 μg/L of acetaminophen, caffeine, sulfamethazine, and sulfamethoxazole each one). The SPEF process was carried out on fully sunny days, at circumneutral pH using the complex Fe3+-EDDS, in a solar elec...

Discovery of hepatoprotective activity components from Thymus quinquecostatus celak. by molecular networking, biological evaluation and molecular dynamics studies
In this study, combining molecular networking visualization and bioassay-guided fractionation strategies, a pair of novel skeleton diterpenoid enantiomers, (+)- and (-)-thymutatusone A [(+)- and (-)-1], along with one new and one known biogenetically related compounds (2-3) and 16 other known compounds (4-19), were identified from T. quinquecostatus. Their structures were exhaustively characterized by comprehensive spectroscopic data, X-ray diffraction analysis, and ECD calculations. Compounds (±)-1, (-)-1, and (+)-1, with a rare tricyclo [7.3.1.02,7] tridecane skeleton, exhibited potent hepatoprotective activity in HepG2...

Graphene/metal-organic framework nano-sandwiches derived N, P-codoped porous carbon nanosheets as robust material for electrochemical analysis
Anal Chim Acta. 2023 Oct 9;1277:341675. doi: 10.1016/j.aca.2023.341675. Epub 2023 Jul 29.ABSTRACTConstruction of novel two-dimensional porous carbon nanosheets with superior electrochemical activity is of great challenge. Here, graphene/ZIF-8 nano-sandwiches derived N, P-codoped porous carbon nanosheets (N, P-codoped PCN) was easily obtained by sequential room temperature self-assembly and high-temperature carbonization method. Relative to the widely used physically exfoliated graphene nanosheets (GN) and graphene/ZIF-8 derived N-doped porous carbon nanosheets (N-doped PCN), N, P-codoped PCN displayed larger active surface...
