ConclusionsThe benefits of a hybrid approach to the frozen elephant trunk can be attained without the complex industry available technology as presented by our technique, the Buffalo Trunk. Evolution of this approach has facilitated shorter circulatory arrest time, and subsequently overall decreased operative times without compromising outcomes.

In ‐hospital outcomes of transcatheter versus surgical aortic valve replacement in non‐teaching hospitals
ConclusionsTAVR conferred similar in ‐hospital mortality and major peri‐procedural complications compared with SAVR in non‐teaching hospitals. For those with limited access to teaching hospitals, non‐teaching hospitals appear to be a reasonable option for candidates of aortic valve replacement for severe aortic stenosis.

Surgical Ablation of Atrial Fibrillation in the United States: Trends and Propensity Matched Outcomes
Conclusions Contemporary utilization of SA is increasing across all operative categories. Performance of SA is accompanied by a 30-day reduction in mortality and stroke. These findings further refine our understanding of the role of SA in the treatment of AF.

Differences in baseline characteristics, practice patterns and clinical outcomes in contemporary coronary artery bypass grafting in the United States and Europe: insights from the SYNTAX randomized trial and registry ADULT CARDIAC
CONCLUSIONS Repeat revascularization rates following CABG in the USA versus Europe were increased at 5 years, particularly in off-pump patients. There was no significant difference in the rate of death, stroke and MI.
