P-013 Designing and prototyping a novel balloon-stent device for minimally invasive temporary aneurysm occlusion and embolization
ConclusionA balloon-stent device allows for longer neuro-interventional procedures by providing continuous perfusion without arresting blood flow during balloon inflation. In addition, this novel medical device provides a smooth surface at the aneurysm neck for consistent device placement, minimization of parent vessel trauma, elimination of ischemic effects distal to the parent artery, and minimization of intra-saccular flow remnants pre- and post-treatment.Abstract P-013 Figure 1a) FPR results from theoretical estimation, benchtop modeling, and computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulation. P-017 Triple therapy versus dual antiplatelet therapy for dolichoectatic vertebrobasilar fusiform aneurysms treated with flow-diverters: the last frontier?
ConclusionsPatients with dolichoectatic VBFAs treated with flow-diversion and kept under triple therapy had less ischemic strokes, less progression of symptoms and overall better outcomes at last follow-up than similar patients kept under DAPT.Disclosures A. E-060 Analysis of reported adverse events of flow-diverter stents for intracranial aneurysms using the FDA MAUDE database
ConclusionsPost-market surveillance is an important to guide patient counselling and identify adverse events and device problems that were not identified in initial trials. Although there are inherent limitations to the MAUDE database, our results highlight some important PR and DR complications that can help optimize patient counseling and management.Disclosures M. E-182 A multicentric experience for the use of flow diverter in the treatment of anterior communicating artery aneurysms
ConclusionFlow diverters appear to be a safe and effective treatment for anterior communicating artery aneurysms, presenting as an alternative strategy in the armamentarium of interventionalist. Mid-term results were favorable, and complication rates were low. Additional studies with longer follow-up time and independent adjudication are warranted to confirm the safety and effectiveness of the technique.Disclosures V. Benalia: None. G. Cortez: None. N. North American multicenter experience with the Flow Redirection Endoluminal Device in the treatment of intracranial aneurysms
CONCLUSIONS: As the first large-scale North American multicenter FRED experience, this study confirmed the ease of successful FRED deployment but suggested lower efficacy and a higher rate of complications than reported by previous European and South American studies on FRED and other flow-diverting devices. The authors recommend judicious use of this device until future studies can better elucidate the long-term outcomes of FRED treatment.PMID:36087324 | DOI:10.3171/2022.7.JNS221371

Endoluminal flow diverting stents for middle cerebral artery bifurcation aneurysms: multicenter cohort
Conclusion FDS treatment for MCA bifurcation aneurysms is feasible, with comparable safety and efficacy profiles to other available endovascular options when utilized in carefully selected aneurysms. Jailing of M2 branches was not associated with a higher risk of post-procedural ischemic complications.

Correspondence on "Unplanned readmission after carotid stenting versus endarterectomy: analysis of the United States Nationwide Readmissions Database" by Nazari et al
We read the article by Nazari et al1 comparing carotid endarterectomy and carotid artery stenting. Most of the patients in the article were asymptomatic patients. Asymptomatic carotid stenosis is considered one of the most significant causes of ischemic stroke. The management of asymptomatic carotid stenosis ranges from open surgical approaches to minimally invasive endovascular interventions and medical therapeutics.2 With the advances in the neurosurgical field within the last decade, various surgical interventions have emerged. However, to date, the evidence regarding the optimal interventional strategies for asymptomat...

National reduction in cerebral arteriovenous malformation treatment correlated with increased rupture incidence
Conclusions After 2014, the likelihood of intervention for unruptured AVMs decreased while the incidence of ruptured AVMs increased. These findings suggest that fewer unruptured AVM treatments may lead to increases in AVM rupture incidence.
