IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 6156: A Forty-Year Analysis of the Literature on Babesia Infection (1982 & ndash;2022): A Systematic Bibliometric Approach
This study was designed to uncover trends in relation to publication growth and further explore research output regarding babesiosis from data indexed in the WoS. The WoS is the only platform used to map publications on Babesia infection. The search term “babesiosis” or “Babesia infection” was used to extract articles published across the study period from 1982 to 2022. The inclusion criteria were restricted to only articles for the analysis. The results from the search query showed that a total of 3763 articles were published during the study period with an average o...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 5217: Indigenous Cultural Safety Training for Applied Health, Social Work, and Education Professionals: A PRISMA Scoping Review
la Mashford-Pringle Anti-Indigenous racism is a widespread social problem in health and education systems in English-speaking colonized countries. Cultural safety training (CST) is often promoted as a key strategy to address this problem, yet little evidence exists on how CST is operationalized and evaluated in health and education systems. This scoping review sought to broadly synthesize the academic literature on how CST programs are developed, implemented, and evaluated in the applied health, social work and education fields in Canada, United States, Australia, and New Zealand. MEDLINE, EMBASE, CINAHL, ERIC, and ASS...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 5087: Monkeypox (Mpox) and Occupational Exposure
wska Recently, there has been a significant increase in interest in biological risk factors, which are increasingly perceived as an important problem in occupational medicine. Exposure to harmful biological agents may be associated with the deliberate use of microorganisms in the work process or with unintentional exposure resulting from the presence of biological risk factors in the work environment. Monkeypox (mpox) is a viral infectious disease that may afflict humans and non-human primates. Since May 2022, mpox has occurred in Europe, North and South America, Asia, Australia and Africa, with some 76,713 cases (75,8...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 4911: An Integrated System of Braden Scale and Random Forest Using Real-Time Diagnoses to Predict When Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injuries (Bedsores) Occur
Conclusion: Identifying when the patient is likely to develop HAPI can target early intervention when it is needed most and reduces unnecessary burden on patients and care teams when patients are at lower risk, which further individualizes the plan of care.

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 3395: Trends in Online Search Activity and the Correlation with Daily New Cases of Monkeypox among 102 Countries or Territories
Min Liu Jue Liu Research assessing the trend in online search activity on monkeypox (mpox) and the correlation with the mpox epidemic at the global and national level is scarce. The trend of online search activity and the time-lag correlations between it and daily new mpox cases were estimated by using segmented interrupted time-series analysis and Spearman correlation coefficient (rs), respectively. We found that after the declaration of a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC), the proportion of countries or territories with increasing changes in online search activity was lowest in Africa (8.16%,...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 3374: Integrated Care as a Model for Interprofessional Disease Management and the Benefits for People Living with HIV/AIDS
Conclusions: Integrated care focuses on the holistic view of PLWH, considering medical, nursing, psychosocial, and psychiatric needs, as well as the various interactions among them. A comprehensive expansion of integrated care in primary health care settings will not only relieve the burden on hospitals but also significantly improve the patient situation and the outcome of treatment.

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 3007: COVID-19 Related Early Google Search Behavior and Health Communication in the United States: Panel Data Analysis on Health Measures
The objective of this study is to investigate and understand the relationship between public health measures and the development of the pandemic through Google search behaviors in the United States. Our collected data includes Google search queries related to COVID-19 from 1 January to 4 April 2020. After using unit root tests (ADF test and PP test) to examine the stationary and a Hausman test to choose a random effect model, a panel data analysis is conducted to investigate the key query terms with the newly added cases. In addition, a full sample regression and two sub-sample regressions are proposed to explain: (1) The ...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 2242: Acceptability of School Menus: A Systematic Review of Assessment Methods
Botelho The school meal promotes healthy eating habits through nutritionally adequate preparations. Consequently, it prevents obesity and malnutrition, favoring learning. This systematic review aimed at investigating the methods for evaluating the acceptance of school menus offered by school feeding programs (SFPs) around the world. Specific search strategies were conducted on PubMed, Lilacs, Web of Science, Scopus, Embase, Google Scholar, and ProQuest Global. The methodological quality of the included studies was assessed using the Meta-Analysis Statistical Assessment and Review Instrument. A total of 89 studies were...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 1744: Hip Surgery in Cerebral Palsy: A Bibliometric Analysis
ch Rutz Hip dislocation in cerebral palsy can lead to pain, pressure sores and difficulty with perineal hygiene. Hip surveillance programs have been implemented to identify patients who might benefit from early intervention and preventive strategies. Surgical techniques used to treat hip dislocation include soft tissue procedures, guided growth, osteotomies and salvage procedures. A search was conducted using Clarivate Web of Science Core Collection on 18 October 2022, to identify all studies of bony or soft tissue surgery for hip pathology in children with cerebral palsy. Fifty-nine original studies and reviews with a...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 828: An Integrated System of Multifaceted Machine Learning Models to Predict If and When Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injuries (Bedsores) Occur
Grath Hospital-Acquired Pressure Injury (HAPI), known as bedsore or decubitus ulcer, is one of the most common health conditions in the United States. Machine learning has been used to predict HAPI. This is insufficient information for the clinical team because knowing who would develop HAPI in the future does not help differentiate the severity of those predicted cases. This research develops an integrated system of multifaceted machine learning models to predict if and when HAPI occurs. Phase 1 integrates Genetic Algorithm with Cost-Sensitive Support Vector Machine (GA-CS-SVM) to handle the high imbalance HAPI datase...

IJERPH, Vol. 20, Pages 457: Financing Benefits and Barriers to Routine HIV Screening in Clinical Settings in the United States: A Scoping Review
. Tiruneh The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends everyone between 13–64 years be tested for HIV at least once as a routine procedure. Routine HIV screening is reimbursable by Medicare, Medicaid, expanded Medicaid, and most commercial insurance plans. Yet, scaling-up HIV routine screening remains a challenge. We conducted a scoping review for studies on financial benefits and barriers associated with HIV screening in clinical settings in the U.S. to inform an evidence-based strategy to scale-up routine HIV screening. We searched Ovid MEDLINE®, Cochrane, and Scopus for studies...
