Diffusion-weighted MRI of ischemic stroke at 3T: Value of synthetic b-values.
CONCLUSION: Synthetic images at b = 1000 and 1500 s mm-2 and acquired DWI images at b = 2000 s mm-2 may be of clinical value due to improved lesion conspicuity. Association of dissection features and primary collateral circulation with ischemic stroke in patients with spontaneous internal carotid artery dissection: Evaluated using vessel Wall-MRI and MRA
CONCLUSIONS: Both the poor primary collateral circulation and severe stenosis may play important role in occurrence of ischemic stroke for spontaneous ICAD patients and good primary collateral circulation can help to reduce the incidence of infarction.ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE: ICAD is one of the major causes of ischemic stroke. Abstract Acute ischaemic stroke is the second largest cause of death worldwide and a cause of major physical and psychological morbidity. Current evidence based treatment includes intravenous thrombolysis (IVT) and mechanical thrombectomy (MT), both requiring careful patient selection and to be administered as quickly as possible within a limited time window from symptom onset. Imaging plays a crucial role identifying patients who may benefit from MT or IVT whilst excluding those that maybe harmed. Defining reperfusion post endovascular therapy in ischemic stroke using MR-dynamic contrast enhanced perfusion.
CONCLUSION: MR perfusion following EVT provides accurate physiological approach to understanding the relationship of CBF, clinical outcome, and DWI growth. Association of Pre-Diabetes and type 2 diabetes mellitus with intracranial plaque characteristics in patients with acute ischemic stroke
CONCLUSIONS: Patients with pre-diabetes and T2DM had similar intracranial atherosclerotic plaque vulnerability, as demonstrated by multiple plaques, increased culprit plaque enhancement ratio and global plaque enhancement score.ADVANCES IN KNOWLEDGE: Pre-diabetes might be a risk factor for intracranial plaque vulnerability. Endovascular therapy of acute ischemic stroke related to tandem occlusion: comparison of occlusion and severe stenosis of the proximal cervical internal carotid artery.
CONCLUSION: Acute endovascular treatment of carotid artery tandem lesions is a technically feasible and clinically effective intervention regardless of the lesion type in proximal cervical ICA. Special report of the RSNA COVID-19 task force: systematic review of outcomes associated with COVID-19 neuroimaging findings in hospitalized patients
