Appropriateness of dabigatran dosing in patients with non-valvular atrial fibrillation (NVAF): A retrospective study conducted in a tertiary care university hospital in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia
ConclusionThis study revealed inappropriate prescription of reduced doses of dabigatran in a large number of patients. Age was identified as the main driving factor for underdosing. Physicians’ and pharmacists’ awareness regarding this type of high-risk medication should be improved to ensure appropriate and safe use of this commonly used drug.

Medication errors associated with direct-acting oral anticoagulants: analysis of data from national pharmacovigilance and local incidents reporting databases
ConclusionsThis observational study demonstrates the nature of DOAC related medication  errors in clinical practice. Developing risk prevention and reduction strategies using the expertise of clinical pharmacists are imperative in promoting patient safety associated with DOAC use.

Prothrombin complex concentrate in the management of major bleeding induced by oral anticoagulant therapy
