Prevalence of atrial fibrillation in a regional Victoria setting, findings from the crossroads studies (2001-2003 and  2016-2018)
CONCLUSION: The prevalence of AF among community-based participants in regional Victoria was similar to predominantly metropolitan-based studies, and was unchanged over time despite increased rates of risk factors. Electrocardiogram rhythm strip investigation was successfully utilised, and particularly benefited from physician overview.PMID:35938603 | DOI:10.1111/ajr.12914

Review article: Managing medical emergencies in rural Australia: A systematic review of the training needs.
Abstract The aim of the study was to determine the training needs of doctors managing emergencies in rural and remote Australia. A systematic review of Australian articles was performed using MEDLINE (OVID) and INFORMIT online databases from 1990 to 2016. The search terms included 'Rural Health', 'Emergency Medicine', 'Emergency Medical Services', 'Education, Medical, Continuing' and 'Family Practice'. Only peer-reviewed articles, available in full-text that focussed on the training needs of rural doctors were reviewed. Adherence to antithrombotic therapy guidelines and atrial fibrillation in a rural hospital: a clinical audit.

Urban-rural comparisons in health risk factor, health status and outcomes in Tianjin, China: A cross-sectional survey (2009-2013).
CONCLUSION: Contrary to Australian urban-rural survey outcomes, the health status and outcomes of residents in rural areas of Tianjin seemed to be better than those of their counterparts in urban areas.
