Fibrosis contributes to graft loss in chronic renal allograft injury. Endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plays an important role in the development of fibrosis following kidney transplantation. Autophagy plays an important role in the homeostasis of diverse cell types including endothelial cells.
