Infodemiology of renal diseases: a novel opportunity to investigate public global interest.
CONCLUSIONS: GT is a reliable tool in evaluating global interest for renal diseases in different geographical areas and temporal patterns. Although infodemiology represents a method for investigating the dissemination of information at a global level, our results suggest the need for increasing general population's interest for renal diseases especially, and move from simple interest to global awareness in the view of prevention strategies. Diagnosis and treatment of acute pharyngitis/tonsillitis: a preliminary observational study in General Medicine.
CONCLUSIONS: Based on the results obtained, only patients with a positive rapid test were subjected to targeted antibiotic therapy. This has resulted in a significant cost savings in pharmaceutical expenditure, without neglecting the more important and correct application of the Guidelines with performing of a clinically validated test that carries advantages for reducing the use of unnecessary and potentially harmful antibiotics and the consequent lower prevalence and incidence of antibiotic-resistant bacterial strains. Risks in surgery-first orthognathic approach: complications of segmental osteotomies of the jaws. A systematic review.
CONCLUSIONS: Due to the small number of studies included in this systematic review, the rate of complication related to surgery first approach may be slightly higher than those associated with traditional orthognathic surgery, since the rate of complications of segmental osteotomies must be added to the complication rate of basal osteotomies. A surgery-first approach could be considered riskier than a traditional one, but further studies that include a greater number of subjects should be conducted to confirm these findings. Aerobic exercises recommendations and specifications for patients with COVID-19: a systematic review.
CONCLUSIONS: This review demonstrated that patients with COVID-19 should follow a regular program of aerobic exercise for 20-60 min. This program should be in the form of cycling or walking with an intensity of 55%-80% VO2max or 60%-80% of maximum heart rate. This program should be repeated 2-3 sessions/week. These previous parameters could safely enhance immune functions without producing any exhaustion. PMID: 33378057 [PubMed - in process]

Prostacyclins and pulmonary arterial hypertension in children
CONCLUSIONS: Epoprostenol can be effective against severe pulmonary hypertension. Iloprost can treat severe persistent pulmonary hypertension in newborns and inhaled iloprost can be used in pulmonary vasoreactivity testing. Treprostinil is a long-acting prostacyclin analog, and it shows the highest antiproliferative activity among prostacyclins. Beraprost may be effective in premature infants, but available evidence comes from only one patient, so more clinical testing is needed.PMID:35049017 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202201_27745

Social inequalities and nutritional disparities: the link between obesity and COVID-19
CONCLUSIONS: Today, chronic non-communicable degenerative diseases (CDNCDs) are responsible for 70% of public health expenditure, affecting 30% of the population (one or more chronic diseases). Unfortunately, given the health emergency due to SARS-CoV-2, infectious diseases are currently more at the center of attention. However, the spread of infectious communicable diseases and CDNCDs is facilitated in situations of social disparity. In fact, in the poorest countries there are the highest rates of malnutrition and there is a greater risk of contracting viral infections, as well as, paradoxically, a risk of comorbidity, du...

A review on the forensic toxicology of global drug-facilitated sexual assaults
CONCLUSIONS: The findings suggest that a diverse range of substances are associated with DFSA and that victims are rendered vulnerable through recreational substance consumption at social events. As such, typical DFSA cases appear to be opportunistic in nature and primarily involves women in their mid-twenties and an acquaintance as the perpetrator.PMID:35048994 | DOI:10.26355/eurrev_202201_27767
