SiRNA interfering STAT3 enhances DDP sensitivity in cervical cancer cells.
CONCLUSIONS: STAT3 over-expression is associated with DDP resistance in cervical cancer. Decreasing STAT3 can significantly promote the apoptosis of cervical cancer CaSki cells and decrease the DDP resistance. PMID: 30024597 [PubMed - in process]

LncRNA NEAT1 regulates cervical carcinoma proliferation and invasion by targeting AKT/PI3K.
CONCLUSIONS: LncRNA NEAT1 siRNA transfection can inhibit the proliferation of cervical cancer by regulating the AKT/PI3K signaling pathway, promote cell apoptosis, and restrain cell invasion. Therefore, the lncRNA NEAT1 may be used as a molecular potential for the diagnosis and treatment of cervical cancer through regulating AKT/PI3K signaling pathway, which would be confirmed in the following study. Propofol induces apoptosis of non-small cell lung cancer cells via ERK1/2-dependent upregulation of PUMA.
CONCLUSIONS: Propofol inhibits viability and induces apoptosis of A549 cells via an ERK1/2-dependent PUMA signaling. PMID: 30024623 [PubMed - in process]

Knockdown of ferroportin accelerates erastin-induced ferroptosis in neuroblastoma cells.
CONCLUSIONS: These results suggested that knockdown of Fpn accelerated erastin-induced ferroptosis by increasing iron-dependent lipid ROS accumulation, highlighting Fpn as a potential therapeutic target site for neuroblastoma. Thus, Fpn inhibitors may provide new access for chemosensitization of neuroblastoma. PMID: 29949159 [PubMed - in process]

Study on the function and mechanism of long non-coding RNA DMTF1v4 in the occurrence of colon cancer.
CONCLUSIONS: The expression of lncRNA DMTF1v4 is elevated in colon cancer tissues; lncRNA DMTF1v4 promotes colon cancer cell proliferation and migration, and inhibits apoptosis by downregulating the expression of p-ERK, p-JNK, and p-p38, thus affecting the progression of colon cancer. This will provide a basis for the development of new clinical treatments for colon cancer. PMID: 29949153 [PubMed - in process]

Up-regulation of microRNA-503 by high glucose reduces the migration and proliferation but promotes the apoptosis of human umbilical vein endothelial cells by inhibiting the expression of insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor.
CONCLUSIONS: The present study demonstrates that miR-503 expression in HUVECs is elevated in high glucose condition. Also, miR-503 reduces migration and proliferation, but promotes apoptosis of HUVECs by inhibiting IGF-1R expression. PMID: 29917206 [PubMed - in process]

Sestrin2 aggravates oxidative stress of neurons by decreasing the expression of Nrf2.
CONCLUSIONS: Sesn2 promoted the transfer of nuclear Nrf2 to the cytoplasm, it decreased the expressions of Nrf2 and its downstream proteins, Srx1 and Trx1. Meanwhile, it increased the cerebral ischemia-reperfusion injury by changing the distribution of Nrf2. PMID: 29917204 [PubMed - in process]

MiR-143 regulates proliferation and apoptosis of myelocytic leukemia cell HL-60 via modulating ERK1.
CONCLUSIONS: MiR-143 down-regulation and ERK1 up-regulation are correlated with APL pathogenesis. Their expression level affected patient's prognosis. MiR-143 targeted and inhibited ERK1 expression, weakened proliferation potency of HL-60 cells, and induced apoptosis. PMID: 29917183 [PubMed - in process]

The role of MiR-324-3p in polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS) via targeting WNT2B.
CONCLUSIONS: The expression of miR-324-3p in the ovary of PCOS rats is decreased significantly. Overexpression of miR-324-3p can reduce the proliferation and induce the apoptosis of granulosa cells via targeting of WNT2B. PMID: 29917177 [PubMed - in process]
