Diagnostic utility of endoscopic ultrasonography-elastography in the evaluation of solid pancreatic masses: a meta-analysis and systematic review.
CONCLUSION: EUS-EG is reliable for distinguishing solid pancreatic masses; the sensitivity and specificity for different diagnostic methods were very close. Both EUS-EG and CE-EUS can be valuable complementary supplements for EUS-FNA. PMID: 28440348 [PubMed - in process]

Ultrasound-guided bone lesions biopsies - a systematic review.
CONCLUSION: Core needle biopsy provided better diagnostic yield compared to fine needle aspiration. The number of the passages of the cutting needle biopsies in order to achieve the best diagnostic yield wasthree. Further studies are needed in order to standardize US-guided bone lesions biopsy and increase its role in the diagnosis algorithm of the bone lesions. PMID: 28845497 [PubMed - in process]

Correlation between protein YKL-40 and ultrasonographic findings in active knee osteoarthritis.
CONCLUSIONS: YKL-40 is involved in the pathogenesis of OA synovitis. Evaluation of YKL-40 levels in parallel with US might provide more sensitive and reliable information for the diagnosis and understanding of OA. PMID: 29400369 [PubMed - in process]

Sensitivity and specificity of ultrasound for the diagnosis of acute pulmonary edema: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
CONCLUSION: The diagnostic test accuracy suggests that lung ultrasound using B-lines is a useful and reliable diagnostic tool for critically illpatients with acute pulmonary edema. PMID: 29400365 [PubMed - in process]

Ultrasonographic and Imaging Appearance of Peripheral Intraneural Vascular Anomalies: Report of Two Cases and Review of the Literature.
Authors: Rusu GM, Ciuce C, Fodor L, Manole S, Dudea SM Abstract The purpose of the paper is to present the ultrasonographic and imaging appearance of two cases of peripheral nerve intraneural vascular anomalies and provide a comprehensive review of the publications on this subject. The clinical presentation, ultrasonographic appearance, corresponding imaging and outcome of a case of ulnar nerve venous malformation and a case of median nerve arteriovenous malformation are presented.Literature search revealed 35 papers presenting 52 cases of vascular anomalies involving the peripheral nerves. The ultrasonographic appe...

The value of S-Detect for the differential diagnosis of breast masses on ultrasound: a systematic review and pooled meta-analysis.
CONCLUSIONS: S-Detect exhibited a favourable diagnostic value in assisting physicians discriminating benign and malignant breast masses and it can be considered as a useful complement for conventional US. PMID: 32399528 [PubMed - in process]

Elastography of the uterine cervix in gynecology: normal appearance, cervical intraepithelial neoplasia and cancer. A systematic review.
CONCLUSIONS: Elastography has multiple applications in the gynecological pathology of the cervix. The methods used to assess the cervix are diverse, and none have become universally accepted. With regard to CC and CIN, elastography is still an ongoing research field. PMID: 32905569 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Noninvasive diagnosis of liver fibrosis in the complex cardiac malformation survivors - a review of the literature
Med Ultrason. 2020 Dec 29. doi: 10.11152/mu-2850. Online ahead of print.ABSTRACTThe aim of this review is to summarize the information on the pathogenesis and diagnosis of congestive liver disease sec-ondary to the Fontan and Glenn surgery for complex cardiac malformations, focusing on non-invasive diagnostic modalities. We performed an electronic database search (Pubmed, Web of Science) with the data range from 2001 to 2020. We selected the studies that addressed the pathogenesis of congestive liver disease secondary to cardiac malformations and articles regarding noninvasive methods of determining liver fibrosis in this ...
