Omalizumab treatment in patient with severe asthma and Eosinophilic Granulomatosis with Polyangiitis . A case report.
We present the case of a woman with EGPA who was frequently treated with high dose steroid therapy during hospital admission for refractory asthma. After December 2008, the date when we started Omalizumab, we observed a significative reduction of circulating eosinophils and IgE serum level, and the patient was no more hospitalized for respiratory failure or asthma attacks.

Can esophageal dilation be avoided in the treatment of severe esophageal stricture caused by eosinophilic esophagitis?
We present a case report of a 14 year old child with severe esophageal stricture secondary to EoE, that was treated with topical and systemic corticosteroid before any invasive procedure was considered. After 26 weeks of medical treatment, significant improvement of esophageal dysfunction occurred with histological remission and stricture resolution. In patients with severe esophageal strictures secondary to EoE, the need for esophageal dilation procedures should be considered only after anti-inflammatory treatment.

Newly identified T helper cell 22 (Th22) is a subset of CD4+ T cells with specific properties apart from other known CD4+ T cell subsets. Methacholine bronchial challenge effects on nasal symptoms and function in patients with allergic rhinitis.
CONCLUSIONS: The present study demonstrates that in AR patients MCH bronchial challenge does not substantially affect nasal symptoms and function, also in subjects with an acute bronchospasm, such as in BHR patients. However, severity of nasal obstruction perception might predict BHR.
