IJERPH, Vol. 18, Pages 11862: The Effect of Parental Education and Socioeconomic Status on Dental Caries among Saudi Children
AlHumaid Parental attitudes toward the importance of oral hygiene have an impact on the formation of their children’s oral habits and the prevalence of oral diseases. Our aim was to assess the association between parents’ education and socioeconomic status and their children’s oral health. A cross-sectional study was conducted between the years of 2018 and 2020 in the eastern province of Saudi Arabia among primary school children. Two pre-calibrated dentists performed the clinical examination of the children, and a self-administered validated questionnaire was obtained from their parents. Clinical examination wa...

IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 3539: Analyzing the Difficulties of Continuing Physical Activity during the COVID-19 Crisis in France
This article aimed to examine the characteristics of French adults who self-reported having difficulties in continuing their exercise practices during the pandemic. Multivariate logistic regressions were used to test whether certain demographic, morphologic, behavioral (sleep, sedentary lifestyle, extent of household chores), and exercise-related variables were significant predictors of experiencing such difficulties, based on data from an online survey of insurance company members. Difficulties in PA practice were found in 57% of the population surveyed. Several factors were identified as predictors of experiencing diffic...

IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 5200: Educators as Health and Education Mediators for African Asylum Seekers in Israel
This study reveals a dual reality: on the one hand, African asylum seekers experience alienation, exclusion, and violence; on the other hand, they gain a positive point of view when parents see the educators as loyal partners and sources of knowledge who can be consulted to receive help in routine times and during the coronavirus pandemic, a time in which they lost their livelihood, health insurance, and ability to understand the new rules of the lockdowns.

IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 6064: Peer Education and Peer Counselling for Health and Well-Being: A Review of Reviews
g Peer education and peer counselling for health and wellbeing have been recognized as complementary approaches to professional intervention for over 50 years, but it is relatively recently that research into effects has become adequate. Potentially, they have advantages in reaching where professionals cannot, but it has not been clear if that potential is fulfilled, although the measurement of effects is difficult. The present paper examines 58 narrative and systematic reviews and meta-analyses on the topic. In peer education, there were many reviews of sexual health and of HIV/AIDS interventions, followed by reviews ...

As such, workshops like these can be a useful measure for improving eating habits and eliminating dietary errors in the study population. However, future research is needed in order to verify whether such cooking and educational workshops can produce beneficial and lasting changes in dietary habits over the long term.

IJERPH, Vol. 19, Pages 14916: Delay in Seeking Medical Attention and Diagnosis in Chinese Melanoma Patients: A Cross-Sectional Study
Shuang Zhao Juan Su Melanoma is a highly malignant skin tumor, and prolonged delay in seeking medical attention (DSMA) and delay in diagnosis (DD) may result in poor prognoses. Through a web-based questionnaire, we explored the related factors affecting the DSMA and DD of melanoma in a Chinese population. A total of 112 valid answer sheets were received. After obtaining the relevant information, we analyzed the factors associated with DSMA and DD. The median time of DSMA was 8.0 (quartiles: 1.0, 29.3) months, and the median of patients’ DD was 1.0 (quartiles: 1.0, 8.3) month. The subsequent analysis sho...

IJERPH, Vol. 17, Pages 4597: Impact of Medical Debt on the Financial Welfare of Middle- and Low-Income Families across China
Conclusions: Using a narrow definition of medical debt, the incidence of medical debt in Chinese low- and middle-income households was relatively low. But, once medical debt happened, it imposed a long-term financial burden on medical indebted families, tipping many low and middle-income households into poverty and imposing on households several years of debt repayments. Further studies need to use broader definitions of medical debt to better assess the long-term financial impact of medical debt on Chinese families. Policy makers need to modify China’s basic medical insurance schemes to manage out-of-pocket,...
