Group V Secretory Phospholipase A < sub > 2 < /sub > Regulates Endocytosis of Acetylated LDL by Transcriptional Activation of PGK1 in RAW264.7 Macrophage Cell Line
CONCLUSIONS: Nuclear sPLA2-V binds to the Pgk1 gene promoter region and increases its transcriptional activity. sPLA2-V regulates AcLDL endocytosis through PGK1-Beclin1 in a manner that is independent of its enzymatic activity in RAW264.7 cells.PMID:33775979 | DOI:10.5551/jat.62216

Azelnidipine Inhibits the Differentiation and Activation of THP-1 Macrophages through the L-Type Calcium Channel.
CONCLUSION: Our results suggest that azelnidipine has potent antiatherosclerotic properties by inhibition of macrophage activation through Cav1.2. PMID: 29398679 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Endothelin-1-Induced Cell Hypertrophy in Cardiomyocytes is Improved by Fenofibrate: Possible Roles of Adiponectin.
CONCLUSIONS: Our study shows that fenofibrate may protect against ET-1-induced cardiomyocyte hypertrophy and enhanced adiponectin expression through modulation of PPARα expression in vitro and limitation of daunorubicin cardiotoxicity in vivo, suggesting a novel mechanistic insight into the role of PPARα and adiponectin in cardiac hypertrophy and heart failure. Acid Sphingomyelinase Mediates Oxidized-LDL Induced Apoptosis in Macrophage via Endoplasmic Reticulum Stress.
CONCLUSION: These results indicate that ASM/ceramide signaling pathway is involved in ox-LDL-induced macrophage apoptosis via ER stress pathway. PMID: 26923251 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Crucial Role of the Aryl Hydrocarbon Receptor (AhR) in Indoxyl Sulfate-Induced Vascular Inflammation.
CONCLUSION: AhR mediates indoxyl sulfate-enhanced leukocyte-endothelial interactions through AP-1 transcriptional activity, which may constitute a new mechanism of vascular inflammation in patients with renal disease. PMID: 26860885 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

UFM1 Protects Macrophages from oxLDL-Induced Foam Cell Formation Through a Liver X Receptor α Dependent Pathway.
CONCLUSIONS: Taken together, our results showed that UFM1 could suppress foam cell formation via the LXRα-dependent pathway. PMID: 26040753 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]

Eicosapentaenoic Acid Prevents Saturated Fatty Acid-Induced Vascular Endothelial Dysfunction: Involvement of Long-Chain Acyl-CoA Synthetase.
CONCLUSIONS: These results suggest that the ACSL, p21, and NF-κB-dependent pathway may possibly be involved in PA-induced vascular endothelial dysfunction, and that EPA ameliorates this at least in part through the regulation of ACSL3 expression. PMID: 26016511 [PubMed - as supplied by publisher]
