Comparative Cardiovascular Risks of Dipeptidyl Peptidase-4 Inhibitors: Analyses of Real-world Data in Korea.
CONCLUSIONS: Compared to sitagliptin therapy, saxagliptin, linagliptin, and gemigliptin therapies were all associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular events.

Prevalence of Non-valvular Atrial Fibrillation Based on Geographical Distribution and Socioeconomic Status in the Entire Korean Population.
CONCLUSIONS: Geographical location of residence and income levels were closely associated with the prevalence of AF and antithrombotic therapy utilization. This information may provide further insights for more effective surveillance of AF and stroke prevention for improved clinical outcomes.

2018 Korean Guideline of Atrial Fibrillation Management.
This article provides general principles for appropriate risk stratification and selection of anticoagulation therapy in Korean patients with AF. This guideline deals with optimal stroke prevention, screening, rate and rhythm control, risk factor management, and integrated management of AF.

Temporal Trends of Cardiac Implantable Electronic Device Implantations: a Nationwide Population-based Study.
CONCLUSIONS: The number of CIED implantation increased substantially from 2009 to 2016 in Korea. Also, the patients with CIED have been changed to be older and have more comorbidities. Therefore, the burden of health care cost in patients with CIED would be expected to increase in the future.

Social Inequalities of Oral Anticoagulation after the Introduction of Non-Vitamin K Antagonists in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation.
CONCLUSIONS: Introduction of NOACs in routine practice for stroke prevention in AF was associated with improved rates of overall OAC use. However, significant practice-level variations in OAC and NOAC use remain producing social inequalities of OAC despite full reimbursement.

Esophageal Thermal Injury after Catheter Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation with High-Power (50 Watts) Radiofrequency Energy.
CONCLUSIONS: In Asian patients, AF ablations using 50 W resulted in very low rates of mild esophageal complications.

Impact of Non-Vitamin K Antagonist Oral Anticoagulants on the Change of Antithrombotic Regimens in Patients with Atrial Fibrillation Undergoing Percutaneous Coronary Intervention
CONCLUSION: Since the introduction of NOACs, the patterns of periprocedural antithrombotic regimens have changed rapidly toward more use of TAT, specifically with NOAC-based regimen.
