Evaluation of the Feasibility and Efficacy of a Novel Device for Screening Silent Atrial Fibrillation (MYBEAT Trial)
CONCLUSIONS: The novel patch device using an original algorithm was beneficial for screening of silent AF.PMID:34148927 | DOI:10.1253/circj.CJ-20-1061

Different Determinants of the Recurrence of Atrial Fibrillation and Adverse Clinical Events in the Mid-Term Period After Atrial Fibrillation Ablation
CONCLUSIONS: This study disclosed different determinants of post-ablation recurrence and AEs. Female sex, persistent AF, and enlarged LAd were determinants of post-ablation recurrence, whereas an old age, comorbidities, and LV and renal dysfunction rather than post-ablation recurrence were AEs determinants. These findings will help determine ablation indications and post-ablation management.PMID:34219078 | DOI:10.1253/circj.CJ-21-0326

Incidence and Risk Factors of Future Need for Long-Term Care Insurance in Japanese Elderly Patients With Left Ventricular Systolic Dysfunction
CONCLUSIONS: In elderly patients with LV systolic dysfunction, the incidence of LTCI requirement was more common than that for community-dwelling people; its risk factors did not include LVEF, but included many other non-cardiac comorbidities and therapies, suggesting the need for interdisciplinary cooperation to prevent disabilities.PMID:34789610 | DOI:10.1253/circj.CJ-21-0580

Predictors of Subsequent Heart Failure After Left Atrial Appendage Closure
CONCLUSIONS: LAAO increases the occurrence of HF, and it is not uncommon after successful LAAO. A previous history of HF, left ventricular mass index, E/e', and abnormal LA strain are independently associated with the development of HF. These parameters should be considered before attempting LAAO.PMID:34880153 | DOI:10.1253/circj.CJ-21-0642
