Racial Differences in Incidence of Atrial Fibrillation after Cryptogenic Stroke
The incidence of atrial fibrillation (AF) is lower among non-whites compared to whites, despite a higher burden of AF risk factors. The incidence of new AF after cryptogenic stroke among minorities, however, is unknown.

B-po05-199 differences in stroke or systemic thromboembolism readmissions after hospitalization for atrial fibrillation or atrial flutter
Although atrial fibrillation (AF) and atrial flutter (AFL) are different arrhythmias, they are assumed to confer the same risk of stroke and systemic thromboembolism (STE) despite a lack of available evidence.

B-po05-144 comparing sodium glucose cotransporter 2 inhibitors and dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitors on new-onset atrial fibrillation and ischemic stroke
Given the susceptibility of patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus towards cerebrovascular complications, there is increasing research on the cerebrovascular-protective effects of novel anti-diabetic agents. However, few studies have compared sodium glucose cotransporter-2 inhibitor (SGLT2I) and dipeptidyl peptidase-4 inhibitor (DPP4I) in their effects on stroke and atrial fibrillation (AF).

B-po04-147 trends in early stroke and mortality in epicardial versus endocardial left atrial appendage closure in atrial fibrillation: nationwide readmissions database 2016-2018
Percutaneous left atrial appendage closure (LAAC) devices have emerged as an important alternative to anticoagulation for stroke prevention in patients with atrial fibrillation. National data on recent trends and early complication rates associated with endocardial (endo) LAAC and epicardial (epi) LAAC procedures are limited.

B-po04-115 hypertension and abnormal renal function increased the risk of ischemic stroke in anticoagulated ehra type-1 valvular atrial fibrillation
Atrial fibrillation (AF) increases the risk of stroke substantially, therefore many scores have been developed to risk stratify these patients. However, most of the previous studies have focused on non-valvular AF. The most widely used risk stratification score is the CHA2DS2-VASC score. Unfortunately, the validation of this score in valvular AF is poor.

B-po03-151 left atrial appendage occlusion as alternative approach for stroke prevention in hereditary hemorrhagic telangiectasia patients with atrial fibrillation
In this study, we evaluate the safety and efficacy of left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) for stroke prevention in HHT.

B-po03-002 the critical role the allied health professional plays in the management of implantable loop recorder data in patients with history of cryptogenic stroke and atrial fibrillation
Implantation of implantable loop recorders (ILR ’s) requires a dedicated team to manage incoming data. Allied health professionals (AHP) are critical to the management of the numerous events and alerts associated with ILR data. Patients who receive an ILR for the diagnosis of cryptogenic stroke need detailed analysis of each episode to accurate ly identify episodes of atrial fibrillation (AF). Patients who are found to have appropriate detection of AF need to be risk stratified for timely anticoagulation initiation.

B-po01-061 stroke prevention in atrial fibrillation using a percutaneous carotid coil filter: two-year outcomes of the first-in-human capture trial
We previously reported results of a first in human clinical trial (CAPTURE; NCT03571789) in which we studied a novel permanent carotid coil filter that is placed by direct transcutaneous puncture bilaterally into the common carotid arteries (CCAs) to prevent embolic stroke.

B-ab07-02 spontaneous fluctuations in atrial fibrillation burden in patients with implantable devices: implications for incorporating burden into stroke risk assessment
Studies have tried to improve atrial fibrillation (AF) stroke prediction by incorporating AF burden, typically measured at a single time point.

Bs-400-31 association between sleep apnea, atrial fibrillation and incident stroke in a very large population of young individuals
Sleep apnea (SA) worsens outcomes in patients with atrial fibrillation/flutter (AF), and both are common in young patients (20-50 years). However, it is unreported what proportion of young patients with SA have or will develop AF or stroke.

Po-697-02 impact of left atrial appendage stump on arrhythmogenicity and stroke risk after atri-clip in patients with persistent atrial fibrillation
Surgical left atrial appendage occlusion (LAAO) with an atrial clip (Atricure) is frequently performed for stroke prophylaxis in patients with atrial fibrillation (AF). Scant data exist for arrhythmogenicity and thromboembolic risk with the residual LAA stump.
